Two Awesome Martha's Vineyard Vacation Rentals, One Sunny Day

Becky Fischer | 11/1/2017

Last week Tyler and I traveled to Martha’s Vineyard for photography and videography appointments. The commute was lovely, and we talked about how lucky we felt to ride a ferry to work, especially on a warm, sunny day. There were a few people on the boat in shorts, and we both left our coats in the car in Woods Hole. There were many empty seats on the uncrowded boat, and even dogs had extra room to enjoy.

Upon arrival, Tyler and I started snapping pictures in every direction to capture the warm, clear, fall day. We rented a car from A-A Auto Rental, who are always really nice and accommodating. Off we ventured towards Edgartown. While there were clearly many people out walking and celebrating the sunshine, there was very little traffic to maneuver.

Tyler worked with an Edgartown homeowner, Betty, to video her 2-bedroom home. Many features of this home are appealing to vacationers, including the bluestone patio, hot tub, salt-water pool, bright and vaulted sunroom, and modern kitchen. We had both worked with Betty previously when we photographed and videoed her other home next door, which continues to be one of our favorite homes we have visited. She lives on this property year round and spoke with Tyler about how much she loves being on the Island all year long.

Meanwhile, I traveled to West Tisbury to photograph an airy, sunlit 3-bedroom home. This was the third time the homeowner has hired me to photograph updates of his rental home, which has been on our site since 2007. This home is in a private neighborhood with a large lot. The interior offers vaulted living areas with an upstairs loft. Skylights and many windows brighten the house and highlight the new paint and furnishings.

Short and sweet, our day was really enjoyable. The 70 degree weather contributed to bright pictures and videos. We gobbled a quick lunch at Bobby B’s on Main Street in Vineyard Haven. Then, I shared my favorite tradition with Tyler, which is to visit the Black Dog for an iced coffee and a cookie treat for the ferry ride home.
