Description

Description

This much loved home, located on the dunes overlooking Cape Cod Bay, is a perfect place to make your wonderful, family memories. It retains a vintage vibe and charm, without sacrificing amenities.

The house has amazing views from every room, whatever the season or the time of day. The living room, galley kitchen and dining room, all look out to a beautiful waterfront horizon. The 3 bedrooms have a view of a pretty meadow...layers of lush green in spring and summer and flashes of gold and red in the fall. There are two updated bathrooms: one on the main floor with a shower enclosure, and one with a tub/shower combo located off of the unfinished garage and the laundry area. The lower “garage” level is useful as secure, dry storage for such items as bikes, kayaks, fishing gear, golf clubs, and coolers. It is also the location of an additional refrigerator. Household amenities include central A/C, a washer/dryer, wireless internet, two TVs with expanded cable service, and a deck grill.

There are plenty of deck chairs and umbrellas for your use and beach chairs to take down to the soft, ''sugar'' sand above the high tide line, or down to the sandbars and tidal pools at low tide. The house is surrounded by a large wooden deck facing the ocean and two, small, flagstone side patios. You can be outside and still find some shade or shelter from a breezy day if needed. There is a small, mini deck farther out on the dunes, allowing you to chase the rays of the afternoon sun.

Everything you may need is close by! The Cedarville section of Plymouth, less than a 10 minute drive away, is near essentials such as a large Shaw's Supermarket, an ACE Hardware Store, CVS Pharmacy, pubs such as the Plymouth Public House and the Mayflower Tavern, and the tasty breakfast treats of the Blueberry Muffin. From your relaxing “home base”, it's also a short drive to the Sagamore Bridge, the gateway to Cape Cod day trips...and everything from antique shopping to whale watching. Near the base of the bridge, you will also find the local Post Office, and familiar food options such as McDonald's and Dunkin' Donuts.

But if you're staying close to home, you can walk down the boardwalk, the dune path, and then stroll for miles along the private beach. Do some fishing from the jetty at the East End of the Cape Cod Canal, or take your bikes for a ride alongside the scenic canal bike path.
The choice is yours...and ''it's all good!''

    like living in a painting

Sue's place is pure magic, truly the essence of summer on the Cape. Her home has been loved by generations and it shows. The exterior is immaculate, and the interior is spotless while retaining the vintage 1950s charm of its original days. The beds were beyond comfortable and the renovated baths were a delight. Her washer/dryer were immaculate and her garage was a great dry storage with a bonus refrigerator.

Our favorite spot of all (besides the bars at low tide of course) was her bonus room off the kitchen - perfect for morning coffee as well as cozy sunset evenings. For the entire stay, it was like living in a painting. Many new memories made, and many thanks to Sue and her family for sharing this wonderful place. show more show less

    Every day is vacation!

We have stayed at this lovely cottage for the past ten years. The description is exactly right: perfect location, impeccably maintained, easy walk to the beach, gorgeous deck, and room for the family! We love the little sunroom for having breakfast in the morning and playing games at night. The washer and dryer are definitely a plus! You will not be disappointed in this quintessential Cape Cod home.

    Beach House Heaven!

My family and I have been "beaching it" for as long as I can remember. Every summer, every year. When we stumbled upon this charming beach house, we knew we had struck gold! This house has all the amenities and then some. Pristine condition, so well maintained by the owner Susan. The beach is fabulous and sunsets are breathtaking. So much to offer here, even my 92 yr old grandmother enjoyed her stay. We can't say enough about this home, truly a gem of a beach house! We look forward to many years and many memories to treasure here!

    The best vacation

My family and I started coming here in the mid 1990’s when I was around 7 years old. Back in 2016 my fiancé and I were thinking of vacation spots, and I told her about all the fun I had as a kid on Cape Cod on family vacations. To my amazement I looked up the same place we used to stay (20+ years ago) and booked the house for a week. The private beach and all the amenities provide the most peaceful weeklong vacation one could ask for. Last year we got married on the Cape and we rented the house again for 2 weeks. After all the wedding chaos the house provided much needed rest and relaxation for my wife and I. It’s kept very clean and has all the comforts of your own home. I would recommend this place to anyone!

    Sagamore Beach Treasure

It's true what the other reviewers have said about this beach property. This is a special and great place to enjoy the best of Cape Cod without the hassle of going over "the bridge". The property is close enough to the bridge where it's certainly easy enough to go onto the Cape itself if you want-- and we do several times during our stay. But we get to choose the time to travel --when traffic is light:-) The private beach is just wonderful (my wife and kids love it) and there's plenty of privacy. The beach house is also very accessible to the Cape Cod Canal (just ride to the end of the road and through the Scusset Beach parking lot), which we love because we take our bikes on the service road for nice long rides.

The back deck is where we enjoy having dinner and looking out over the dunes and Cape Cod Bay. The beach house itself is wonderfully maintained by Sue who is a third generation owner. Sue puts a lot of love into the property, always making upgrades and improvements. She also makes herself very accessible, in the event you have any questions. We look forward to many more seasons at this special place.

    Delightful

I learned of this delightful house and location from a friend at a July 4th gathering, years ago. The private road is quiet. From inside, the water views are lovely. Immediate beach access is spectacular! Surf can be silvery calm in moonlight or surprisingly white-capped! Treasures to find might be a sand dollar or starfish...to be left behind for the next explorer. Quaint nautical items are equally matched with modern amenities. I have read books, finished quilts, enjoyed the company of guests. (Seafood a must!) Some friends have completed personal triathlons, biking the canal, running the shore, and swimming. I have returned for fifteen years and look forward to a relaxing, healthful getaway this year. show more show less

    A very special place!

I remember exactly the first time I saw this cottage. It was Valentines Day 18 years ago and standing in the living room looking out at the most beautiful view, I knew this is where I wanted to spend summer vacations with my family. There is a stone that is placed in the sand that reads "Welcome to the South of France at Sagamore Beach!" Need I say more about this treasure?

    A little piece of heaven!

I have been coming to this cottage every year for 1-2 weeks since my son was 6 years old...he is now 22 and I cannot imagine a summer without our little piece of heaven.

Not only is the cottage a gem, with so many original details that make you feel warm and cozy, but the property is located on a PRIVATE BEACH! You have the beach to yourself for the most part. My favorite time is low tide where you can walk for miles on "untouched" sand and enjoy some quiet time.

The location is perfect...far enough away from the crowds, but close enough to go to the heart of the cape if you want to go on a whale watch or a shopping mall...all within a 20 minute drive.

Susan, the host, is considered a family member to us. She is professional, considerate and so easy to communicate with. She has always gone out of her way to make sure each visit is better than the previous one. Every January we look forward to her email, updating us on any changes/upgrades she has done to "our" cottage.

I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for "a little piece of heaven"....
