We have owned this home for over 15 years, and although we rented it in the early years, it has been our primary summer residence or a place for close friends and family to stay since then . Our family size is growing, and our desire to have multiple generations with us made it necessary for us to move about a mile down the road to a property where parents, grandparents, and children could all be housed together for the entire summer!
However, our love of this property and the care we have given it over the years, made us want to share it while we weren't in residence. We hope that those who stay here will treat it as if it is there own.

What is special about this property?
There is a feeling of being in a beachside village .. If you want a sunrise; it is just steps out the door to watch it, open the front door and window and let the ocean breeze take you to a place of simplicity. Our family has enjoyed many a morning in the sunporch or on the patio with our coffee, an early bike ride, and days at the beach followed by and outdoor shower ( continuous hot water heater assures all are clean and happy), and dinner grilled and enjoyed under the stars. And if you love to stargaze, the night sky is spectacular! The bonus room which opens to the patio allows for enjoyment of the outdoors and in the evening the big screen TV with the carriage doors closed provides a private spot for a movie night. Equipped with a small refrigerator and counter and stocked with outdoor dishes and glassware, a little oasis just steps from the back door.
It is the perfect home for a family of 4 to 6 people and works best for children (not toddlers) over age 5 or 6 due to the steps to the second floor and ships ladder to reading nook or twin over kitchen.
This is a ''historic house'' built in 1770 and although updated, there will be some quirky charm, a latch on a door or a floorboard that is uneven give it character that we appreciate.

What is special about your town?
Sconset has an easy going historic charm, with a touch of old time classic New England! A stroll on the Bluff Walk, out to the Sankaty light is only a mile... walking thru CodFish Park, or down Ocean Avenue and through the Village is a wonderful stroll by the ocean, gardens, and unique homes.
The beach is there is you want to walk by the ocean, fly a kite, or play ball.
Don't want to cook... grab a coffee and pastry at the Sconset Market, or dine at the Sconset Cafe. A special night out at the Chanticleer.. or shuttle to town to enjoy and evening.
Bustling by day, and quiet at night Sconset is a destination for sightseers and bikers as they loop around the Island. At night it is perfect for a stroll or relaxing without the craziness of town.
Sconset worked hard during the summer of 2020 to keep all feeling safe. We will keep you informed about any 2021 restrictions and or requirements.
