What a house! We very much enjoyed a late summer vacation week at Herring Cove, it was serene and relaxing, and the sun sets over the water - beautiful vistas.

The home is very well appointed, plenty of space (4,250 SF), 4 bedrooms all with terrific water views, plus den / wet bar, ping pong room, and pool table / exercise room. Moreover, every room has in-wall stereo speakers that can be individually controlled via the Sonos 1 app - an added bonus, sounds great.

It also was easy to launch our kayaks at the shore across the water, a 5 minute drive and a 10 minute paddle back to the beach below the house. We were able to easily paddle around the harbor, which is well protected from winds.

This by far was the best vacation rental we have ever stayed at. The house was huge, the kitchen well stocked and open to the dining and living room. There were multiple outdoor spaces but the best part was the view. It was great to be able to kayak right from the property.

The owner also took the time to show us around the home so we knew where everything was and it has the biggest outside shower I have ever seen. Would definitely rent again.

This was our second stay at this simply spectacular home in the highly desirable Chequessett Neck section of Wellfleet. We liked it so much the first time we decided to rent for two weeks off season (first half of May).

Incredibly well designed and spacious with rooms enough for a multigenerational gathering, the water views from virtually all windows are incredible. We caught many a stunning sunset. The appliances and home electric and music (Sonos) systems are state of the art, and the home comes well-stocked with any pots, pans, utensils and glasses one might need.

Owner Dick is readily available for any issues that might arise, and provides a very helpful tour and tutorial on the house upon arrival. Highly recommend this rental property for any families looking to stay in the Wellfleet area. show more show less

My wife and I loved our stay here. The owner graciously welcomed us and showed us around; the property was very quiet and immaculately maintained, and had all the kitchenware and other amenities that any renters could want; the views were splendid, in several directions; the walking was glorious; and Wellfleet was a short and easy drive away.

We had a very memorable week at this wonderful home! It lived up to the description in every way. The home is spacious, immaculate, comfortable and well equipped. The decor is lovely, and the antiques add the old Cape Cod flavor throughout the house. The front walk with its lovely flowering rock garden is so welcoming. The large living room has a wall of windows overlooking Herring Cove, Grand Island, and Cape Cod Bay. That view is peaceful and ever changing as the tide flows in and out. There were several great hiking trails near by, many beaches and parks to explore, and delicious fresh seafood readily available. Everyone in our party agreed that this property was one of the best we have ever stayed in .We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. show more show less

This house challenges my ability to use words to explain how wonderful it is. It manages to please in every way. It is solidly made (people can sleep on the lower floor and not hear a thing in the great room upstairs), well appointed (it’s almost impossible to need anything but your toothbrush and clothes), beautifully furnished (with a combination of antiques and state of the art electronics) and welcoming (with soft comfortable furniture, toys/games/books tidily displayed, and a layout that makes sense) … But what really gets you is the magnificent view from nearly every room in the house, exposing a pristine harbor, and a long beach ideal for hiking (both the harbor and ocean side). If beach is your thing, there happens to be another right in front of the house, just three flights down.

I review a lot, with over 60,000 reads on Trip Advisor. Plus I’ve probably done at least 40 vacation rentals over the past 25 years. Even when I give a very good review, I like to be honest with the reader and find some downside. I struggle to find one here. If pushed, I would say that you might be frustrated with not having enough time. In this house, not only is Wellfleet (and the Cape) your focus, but the house itself is a destination (take a jacuzzi, play ping pong or pool, sit in the Great room and read, drink wine, or cook with a view, after dark you can enjoy the stars from the deck, watch something on TV, or gather around the large dining table for an animated game of Monopoly.) In this house there is so much to enjoy, you may miss some wonderful things Wellfleet has to offer!

We have rented some lovely homes all over the Cape and this one really out shines all of them!

You will feel pampered with all the amenities and will be surrounded by the unspoiled beauty of Wellfleet. Richard was very helpful in showing us the house and how everything works. Fine furnishings, and more than adequate supplies, they have thought of everything!

The pictures don't do it justice. Every room has a view of the water! We were lucky to have an amazing sunset every night, but even if it rains, it's a beautiful site. We enjoyed watching the tide come and go and walking on the surrounding trails. We would highly recommend this for a group or a large family. There is plenty to do, even if you never leave the house! Believe me you won't want to leave when your vacation is over! Just perfect! show more show less

This is the perfect vacation home! The owner has thought of everything. The spacious layout of the home and the beautiful location, the blooming garden and the tidal view, the well equipped cook"s kitchen and the 2 dens make this the perfect rental. This is the second year we have rented this home and we will be back!!! Several family members enjoy swimming at high tide--right down the stairs. I will look forward to eating a lobster dinner while watching the sunset from the dining room of this elegant yet comfortable home. For us, this is heaven! show more show less
