Excellent Vacation rental. Overall, Our family and friends were so pleased with the experience in the area, at the home and on the property. We found the accommodations beautiful, clean and comfortable, meeting all of our hopes and expectations. Over the course of our 18 day stay we hosted family and friends from 7 months old through the 60 plus mature in our family. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the inside and outside spaces of the home and property. Inside the home there was more than ample room for multi generational families vacationing together.

The kitchen, island seating and dining room physically together allowed for fun cooking and dining experiences all at one time. The shared meal experiences were important to all of us. The WiFi allowed younger members to use their tablets and other smart devices while the traditional could gather in spaces in the living room, on the deck, side porch and outside. It was wonderful to also have comfortable seating outside (both covered and uncovered areas) that allowed us to watch the younger kids play. The ping pong table, game area downstairs was a hit! There was plenty of seating to observe and/or participate. Wonderful alternative for great family time during the two rainy days of our stay.
The bedrooms were spacious and the four full bathrooms in the house meant no one was "waiting". This was a real plus given that we were often trying to depart at the same time. The top floor being available and empty of furniture was a great space to let little ones "play" before bed each night and gather on the area rug for the final story of the night.
We enjoyed every inch of the house and property.
The owner, Platt and his team were kind and responsive. Heidi was a tremendous resource about the property/house and the area. Ron was very knowledgeable about all the workings of the home. It is a smart home. We felt fully supported throughout our stay.
We all agreed that we would recommend the rental 100%. Our son and his family are active duty military, these opportunities to all be together under one roof are not common. We are thankful that this was a memorable positive experience. Everything was so picturesque that this vacation experience provided one of our best photo albums and countless memories.

I grew up in the Captain Morse House with my parents and brother. We had a wonderful childhood full of sailing, fishing, tennis and bike riding. Our family has been coming to the Vineyard since 1956 and can assist you in providing information for the first time or seasoned Vineyard traveler.

I went to Tabor Academy in Marion MA. and Tufts University in Medford, MA.

I encourage you to check out our website and read all the content I have added over the years to assist you in having the best vacation ever.

Call me – I love to talk about the Vineyard.

What is special about this property?
Certainly the location is #1. We are on the most beautiful street on the island, North Water Street. The home itself was built by Captain Morse. He was Edgartown's most successful whaling captain and his home was the largest in town.

The property has been updated with all the amenities that a vacationer could want including central HVAC, modern WiFi and two wonderful kitchens that come fully equipped. The backyard is large and has a large patio attached to it.

What is special about your town?
One of New England's most elegant communities, Edgartown was Martha's Vineyard's first colonial settlement and it has been the county seat since 1642. The stately white Greek Revival houses built by the whaling captains have been carefully maintained. They make the town a museum-piece community, a seaport village preserved from the early 19th century.

Main Street is a picture book setting with its harbor and waterfront. The tall square-rigged ships that sailed all the world's oceans have passed from the Edgartown scene, but the heritage of those vessels and their captains has continued. For the past hundred years, Edgartown has been one of the world's great yachting centers.

To view and appreciate this town fully, you must walk its streets. North Water Street has a row of captains' houses not equaled anywhere. Study the fanlights and widow's walks by day and stroll down the streets after the lamps are lit.

There are excellent public beaches in the township of Edgartown. Norton's Point, known as South Beach or Katama, is a barrier beach providing surf bathing and the opportunity to explore Katama Bay on the other side of the dunes. Lighthouse Beach, located off North Water Street near the town center, offers calm water and views of harbor activities. Bend-in-the-Road Beach, part of Joseph Sylvia Beach, has ample parking and is accessible by bicycle trail.
