The weather was far from perfect during our week in Osterville, Happily, though, since we spent a lot of time indoors, this house was perfect. It is a newly renovated, lovely, comfortable home whose layout was ideal for the 6 of us, including a very active three-year-old, It had everything we needed, from a beautiful and fully supplied kitchen to a garage filled with beach and recreational items. The owners are true hosts who made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The location is ideal, too: a short walk to Osterville center with stores, restaurants, and a delightful public library, a short walk to Joshua's Pond and a short drive to Dowses Beach (or if you prefer, to Craigville Beach and the Centerville "Penny" Candy Store). This is a truly wonderful house.

This spacious, nicely decorated, updated, clean house throughout met all of our needs. So close to town that walking and biking everywhere was so easy. We brought a few bikes, but used one of the two available adult bikes. Everyone slept well all week! Thank goodness for comfortable beds and central air! The kitchen had everything needed for preparing meals. We took advantage of the grill and good-sized table outside in the quiet backyard. It is so conveniently located to our breakfast spots: Amie Bakery, North Sister Cafe and Pineapple Caper Cafe, and our dinner spots: Wimpy's and Crisp. We stopped at Fancy's on the way to the beach for great sandwiches and things forgotten at Stop & Shop. I wish we had more time to vacation here!

This was our first time renting on this site and we could not have been happier. Great location, beautiful yard and patio, well equipped and well laid out house.The owners were delightful and responsive. Everything was wonderful! We all want to go back!

We had an amazing week at this vacation rental in Osterville. It is in the perfect location, within walking distance to the town and Joshua's Pond and also close to the beach.

It is a very comfortable home with lots of space in the bedrooms and common areas. Everything you need for a day at the beach/pond is provided: towels, chairs, coolers, boogie boards and kayaks.

We had a great time and hope to return next summer!

We just returned from another glorious week in Osterville. This was our second year renting Ralph's house and it couldn't have been any better. Literally, the house has everything you need for a beach vacation which makes packing a snap. The house is stocked, spotless, the beds are all comfortable, and everything was in perfect working order.

Our teen guests enjoyed the freedom of walking to the beach, pond and town center- all easily accessible on foot. We enjoyed the beach pass, kayaks, the lovely backyard and just felt very comfortable and at home in the house. There is even a car vacuum in the garage for beach sand.

If you are thinking about this house for your vacation … think no further. It is perfect.

For a family that typically travels and rents vacation properties 2-3 times / year, finding ourselves at home for over 12 months felt VERY long and isolating. To say that it was a breath of fresh air to get away to Osterville is the understatement of the year!

Simply put, Ralph's house was perfect for us. We had more space than we needed, but by having spare bedrooms (one with a desk, keyboard, and monitor!) we were all able to work and do school remotely without being on top of each other. The internet was stable, too.

In terms of the living spaces, we have rarely - if ever - come across a cleaner or better outfitted rental property. The kitchen had all the basic necessities - plus others we didn't expect to see. We typically travel with knives and kitchen equipment since we love to cook, and we were pleasantly surprised to find we needed nothing extra in this home. There was even laundry detergent, and nice shampoo in the shower. The living room furniture was covered and clean - even the garage (equipped with so much gear that we are dreaming of coming back when it is warm enough to spend time at the beach and in the yard!) was spotless! And the beds, bedding, and pillows were as comfortable and relaxing as they looked. Felt like a retreat, really - and the decor was a perfect balance of seeming 'beachy' without hitting you over the head with an anchor or a lobster trap, as so many Cape rentals do. ;)

Location? If you want to be *on* the beach - this is not the house for you. HOWEVER, if you want a location that is - in many ways - *better* than being on the beach, you may have found your ideal rental home. We found we could walk to the beach in a scenic 30 min stroll, and there are bikes provided that would cut that time down to almost nothing. (Parking pass is offered if you prefer to drive). What I liked about the bit of distance from the water was that it was a residential area. It didn't feel crowded, or touristy - we like to just feel 'at home' when we are on vacation. Yet, in less than 5 minutes, we could cruise through the village on foot, where we found amazing take-out food (and cute eateries we look forward to dining in, post-pandemic), shops, and the all-important ice cream parlor (2 to choose from!). We even found ourselves motivated to make a daily 20 min hike (away from town) to visit the french Amie bakery, for pastries that were worth every step. (Just get there early!)

Overall, this house is a residential oasis. We felt relaxed, at home, and luxuriously 'away' for the first time in a year - all at the same time. We played board games (some provided!), watched movies (digital streaming available, too!), read novels on cozy chairs basking in streaming sunshine coming through the bright windows, and walked to comb the beaches for SO many shells. We ate fabulous food - both of our own making and from nearby restaurants.

It was heaven. We can't wait to go back - but almost don't want to post this review, since we fear it will never be vacant, again!

Our second year renting this house and hope to return again. It is a perfect vacation spot, even in a pandemic!

Ralph and his were wife were great hosts from the moment we booked the place until we checked out. Throughout our stay, they were always available to answer any questions that came up. The house was lovely, coming with all the amenities needed to enjoy a beach town, including a well supplied kitchen. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to rent in Osterville!

We found this house to be a perfect fit in every way for our crew which ranged in age from 12 to 72. There was ample space for 8 of us without ever feeling crowded. We had a particularly humid week and the central air was appreciated. The house is also spotless, clean beyond all expectations. The kitchen is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need. The garage was stocked with bikes, kayaks, chairs, outdoor games- you name it!

We found all of the beds very comfortable. The downstairs bedroom with connecting bath is great for anyone needing extra privacy or who may struggle with stairs. Our tween/teens loved the upstairs bedroom they slept in and named it the "dorm room". It accommodated the four of them with space to spare and was just a really fun space.

We all loved the patio and outdoor shower too. In terms of getting around we all walked and rode bikes into town, to Dowses Beach and Joshua's Pond with ease but appreciated the parking pass too to haul our gear.

This is a really nice house to stay in in a beautiful area, we will be back for years to come. The owners clearly take pride in the property and were there to show us around upon arrival. They took special care when I let them know we had a person with a nut allergy in our party and this helped us feel at ease.

We were delighted with our stay at this house. Everything was perfect! From the gorgeous kitchen with a grand marble island to the comfy living room and delightful outside patio, it was a perfect place to holiday on Cape Cod. We could walk down to Osterville for shopping and food, and walk to Joshuas Pond for a swim in a clear, clean kettle pond. The house was equipped with everything we needed, especially the kitchen. We even had bikes to use. A quiet neighborhood. We highly recommend this property!!

The house is warm, bright, and comfortable. It is well located (a five minute walk into "town" and a five minute drive to Dowes beach). We had a great two weeks here and fully intend to return!

Our family enjoyed a wonderful week in Osterville at this beautiful home. The house was immaculate! Clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable for the whole family. We enjoyed many meals at the lovely table on the patio in the backyard, walks into town for ice cream, and spent long days at the beautiful Dowses and Craigville beaches. We appreciated that the owners checked in to make sure everything was going well during our stay, and had promptly answered all of our questions leading up to our arrival. We can't wait to return!

We just got back from an amazing week in this lovely house in Osterville. Where do I begin? The home has been perfectly remodeled to feel like a beautiful blank canvas on which to paint your family’s Cape vacation. Everything you need is here. The appliances are new and state of the art. The bedrooms are spacious and the mattresses are all comfortable. My three grown children all attested to that!

We used the bikes to go down to the pond and the beach pass to check out one of the gorgeous local beaches. We had a fabulous al fresco dinner at the outside table with steamed lobsters and flank steak we cooked on the grill. We walked into town twice to have dinner: we weren’t thrilled with Wimpys but loved our splurge night at the lovely Five Bays Bistro.

The owners were helpful and responsive. The house is well equipped and we made good use of the WiFi as some of the kids were doing work on a few of the days. All in all, one of our very best family vacations!

We just ended a wonderful week at this property on Saturday and could not have had a better experience. The location is ideal, proximity to Dowses is excellent and the ability to easily walk to the center was fantastic. This is our second year and we are already discussing next year.

We had a wonderful week at this lovely, spacious Cape Cod property that has everything you could ask for, and then some. A beautiful, completely equipped kitchen., a sunny, scrupulously clean, comfortably furnished home, a quiet neighborhood, lush landscaping, close to beaches, and a multi-beach pass provided - what else could you ask for? Quaint beach towns nearby for all sorts of shopping and places to dine. All the fun of Hyannis is just a short drive away. Very helpful owners who are a phone call away and offer terrific restaurant suggestions.

This home is exactly as described but it's even better when you're there. The owners have thought of everything. Just bring luggage and a good book. Actually, you'll find a supply of good books and games there too. It really is a happy place that we would return to in a heartbeat. This has everything you come to Cape Cod for (except the salt water taffy) and it is as nice a property as you'll find anywhere.

Best kept secret: Drive to Harwichport and visit Dr. Gravity for astounding kites, toys that will fascinate your kids and you, and meet kindly Dr. Gravity himself. Then visit his next door candy shop - Dr. Cavity.

We had a wonderful week staying at this lovely and very well-equipped home in Osterville. A real treat and great value! The owners showed us around the house when we arrived and encouraged us to contact them during the week if we needed anything. The neighborhood is pleasantly quiet and just a short walk to the Village and swimming. The area is great for bike rides with water views and, because the house had bikes and bike helmets, we enjoyed several bike rides.

We had a great visit here! Ralph and his wife greeted us upon arrival and showed us where everything was. We spent a week; myself, my husband, and our kiddos (2 and 4). The photos are accurate - if anything, they undersell how nice the place is. Kitchen is beautiful, nice washer/dryer, easy access in and out of the house through the garage, where we left a lot of our sandy beach stuff all week. The bedrooms were good sizes, the living area nice, and we grilled a lot out back. Close to downtown Osterville, walking distance to Gone Chocolate, Wimpy's, etc.

I can only agree with previous reviews. This is a lovely home, clean and well appointed. The owners take obvious care of this property and contacted me during my stay to ensure everything was in order. It was.

Close to a lovely pond and 1.5 miles from a great beach, this property has great access to water activities.

Osterville is an easy 5 min walk and is a lovely village with lots to do. Also, .99 coffee at Cumberland Farms.

South St is a quiet road with very little traffic.

My family just returned from our vacation and LOVED our stay. The house is beautiful and fully stocked with everything you could need. Not only inside but the owners also have a kayak for renters to use as well as bikes, beach chairs, corn hole and lots more. The location is perfect for tweens because it is walking distance to the town allowing them to have freedom to go out on their own for pizza, ice cream, and shopping. They could also bike to and sometimes walked from the beach. The house also came with the Barnstable beach pass. It was our first time at Dowses Beach and we loved that it offered something for all ages - kayaking, fishing dock, jetty and the use of floats, not to mention bathrooms and the ice cream man all day. This rental will not disappoint!

What a wonderful treat it was to spend the three days at this cozy beach house in Osterville. It was like a home away from home, and the owners couldn't have been nicer to us!!! We were particularly impressed with the immaculate condition of every room, the furnishings, and the comfort of the chairs, sofas and bedding. The kitchen was beyond our wildest expectations, and we took full advantage of it. We were able to walk to the beach and back and really enjoyed the eateries and shops in Osterville Village. Can't wait to go back again, hopefully at the end of the summer!!! This house is a gem!!!

This listing is better than advertised. The quiet neighborhood is in a prime location, walking distance to Crisp (pizza and pasta), and a short bike ride from the beach. The house feels brand new and has everything you could need, including laundry and a fully stocked kitchen. I was especially impressed with the list of activities recommended by the homeowner which lists the best places to buy local fish. I definitely hope to be back soon.
