Now booking for June and July 2025. NOTE: We are willing to book for any stretch of 10 or more consecutive days, beginning on any day of the week. The rate for 10 days in June is $2,200 with additional days prorated. The rate for 10 days in July is $3,000 with additional days prorated.

Written up in Vineyard Style magazine when it was first built, this jewel of a guest house is truly original. The combination living, dining, and kitchen area, with its high ceiling and glass doors leading to decks on either side, creates a flow between inside and out.

The single bedroom has a queen size bed and its own mini-split air conditioner. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. Pale travertine floors throughout accentuate the feeling of openness and light. Other amenities include a dishwasher, washer/dryer, cable TV, Internet, and a BBQ grill, and linens are provided.

The property is in a wooded neighborhood and is screened from other properties. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. The guest house is across a lawn from the main house. The back deck of the guest house is completely private. Lambert's Cove walk-on beach pass provided.

Not suitable for children. Guests may not host additional overnight guests. No smoking. No pets, no matter how adorable.

    We've been coming to Martha's Vineyard and staying at the guest cottage at Edward's West Tisbury property in August or September for 10 years – and we look forward to these two weeks all year! The cottage is architecturally striking and well-located on the island, set in a woodland off a sandy road so it's private, quiet and peaceful and you are very close to Lamberts Cove Beach. The cottage is filled with lovely light throughout the day and is artfully and comfortably furnished. The attached deck has a table for meals or an afternoon coffee and the indoor dining table has space to host friends for dinner. You can gather fresh produce from many farmstands nearby and fresh fish from Larsen's in Menemsha. Edward and Ellen are very friendly and helpful and always have local insights in response to any questions. We plan to keep coming back in future years.

    Our 8 years of renting the guest cottage at Edward's West Tisbury property has been wonderful in every respect. Edward and his wife Ellen are thoughtful and conscientious landlords, they keep their property in excellent condition and are highly responsive to any inquiries or concerns. They are also friendly, helpful and more. The location itself is wonderfully quiet and serene and the cottage is a lovely contemporary home, that is well appointed and tastefully decorated - perfect from our perspective. We have been happy to return every August for 8 years and look forward to many more, hopefully, in the future."

    My wife and I moved to the island 1995 when she opened a boutique in Edgartown. We were soon followed by my wife's father and mother. When her father died, her mother wanted to build a guest house - her ''dream'' house - on our property. At the same time we built a completely private guest suite for her visitors and ours. The house and suite were designed by a talented Cambridge architect who also helped us to remodel parts of the main house to make the whole stylistically coherent.

    Shortly after my wife's mother died, we decided to rent the guest house, primarily during the summer, and the guest suite on occasion. We have developed long-term relationships with all of our summer guest-house visitors. We regard them as friends with whom we get to spend part of the year, not as ''renters'' in a traditional, commercial sense. We try to take care of their needs just as we would those of visiting family members.

    What is special about this property?
    The property is aesthetically of a piece. and is very beautiful inside and out. While we are in a neighborhood, there is distance and screening between use and our neighbors, thus helping to make the property feel private, tranquil,
    and renewing. At the same time, we are only two miles from the ferry and can drive to Tisbury stores in under 10 minutes. Our location on the island is rich in walking trails and Landbank properties.
