Built in 1820, this property was originally the Chilmark schoolhouse. Since then the home has been renovated with a well well-equipped country kitchen large living room and 4 comfy bedrooms. The style is cozy and comfortable and suitable for couples, friends and families looking for an authentic up-island vibe. Interior and exterior painting were completed in 2021. Enjoy a large front lawn with fruit and evergreen trees as well as perennial plantings. There is a beautiful view of conservation land next door.

The house is close to everything up-island, including West Tisbury farmers market, Alleys General store, the Grey Barn organic farm and with access to Chilmark beaches, this is a great location from which to base your vineyard escape. A paddleboard and solo kayak come with the property rental.

    We bought our Chilmark home in 2019 after many years of summering on the island. I am the founder of an international travel company and love my island retreat when I am not out exploring the world!

    What is special about this property?
    Our goal was to create a family home that feels comfortable and welcoming. It has a farmhouse feel with an easy flow of rooms, which are all located on one level. The house is located adjacent to conservation land in Chilmark, in a rural area that is close to everywhere you would want to go on the island.

    What is special about your town?
    Chilmark is a rural and agricultural part of the island which boasts some of its best beaches and amenities!
