The land was originally purchased by the Folger Family in 1799 when the original house was built. The current house includes a beautiful landscaped yard, off street parking for one car, six bedrooms with three full baths and two half baths.

First Floor: Classic center hall colonial home. Living room, large dining room, kitchen, laundry and two full baths (one with a tub and one with a shower), bedroom with two twin beds. Kitchen and dining room open to back porch and yard.

Second Floor: First Master bedroom suite with a king bed and attached half bath, Second Master bedroom with a king bed, bedroom with two twin beds, bedroom with a single bed. Full hall bathroom with shower/tub.

Third Floor: Large open room with one king bed and one single bed and a half bath.

My family has owned the house at 4 Academy Lane since 1970 and we have spent time in the house every summer since then. This is the first year we are renting the house and are excited to share a home with wonderful memories and meaning with other families.

What is special about this property?
This is a traditional Nantucket home with many classic amenities. We love the quiet of the house and the historic feel. It's wonderful to roll out of bed in the morning, walk a block for my morning cup of coffee, and take a walk out to Brant Point or the Jetties Beach.

What is special about your town?
The house is on a classic Nantucket street with the original cobble stones. It sits at the top of Academy Hill, one of the higher points of land on Nantucket. The location of our home is one of the reasons my parents purchased it in 1970. With a growing family, they did not want to spend their vacation driving us to different places, and as children we loved exploring Nantucket on our own.
