Nantucket Island provides an historic and relaxing sea-side escape. Our property is located in the Nashaquisset community with on-site property management. Featured in the Design Issue of Nantucket Today, this adorable Nantucket country cottage is an ideal spot to enjoy an island vacation - a short walk from downtown and conveniently located to shopping, markets and beaches.

Our air conditioned home is named Tuitions End as we purchased the property after we had 'almost' finished with college payments for our children. We thought this was a very special location for vacations with family and friends. It is beautifully decorated in a blue, yellow and white color palette, with comfortable furnishings and a place for everything. A galley kitchen that would delight the most demanding chef, includes culinary items required for fine cooking or entertaining. We installed an ultra quiet, high efficiency, whole house air conditioning system to ensure August summer comfort for all guests, just in case it's needed.

A spacious side yard is ideal for playing croquet or other lawn games. It compliments the shaded patio that is a refreshing spot to dine or entertain outdoors any time of the day. Adjoining the main patio is is a second, large circular patio with deck chairs and umbrella, which is perfect for sunning or afternoon reading. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, it is just a few minutes walk to the pool and (2) Har-Tru tennis courts, in addition to bike paths and beaches.

The layout includes:
1st Floor:
- Living room with two comfortable sofas, love seat and fireplace
- Dining area with built-in banquette
- Galley kitchen, with JennAir range, GE French door refrigerator with ice maker, KitchenAid (ultra quiet) dishwasher, washer, dryer, microwave and other kitchen small appliances
- Bedroom with queen size bed, HD LCD TV with Apple TV and digital cable
- Full bathroom with tub/shower

2nd Floor:
- Bedroom with queen size bed, HD LCD TV with Apple TV and digital cable, home office with computer, high speed internet and network printer.
- Full bathroom with tub/shower
- Den/family room with full size sofa bed, daybed, HD LCD TV with Apple TV, DVD player, DVR (digital video recorder), large selection of ITunes Apple TV movies, DVD movies, bookcases loaded with books for reading, along with a large assortment of games, toys and puzzles.

Patio:
- Private, fully landscaped, brick patio with mature trees; dining area on main patio, with a secondary circular patio for sunning or shady reading on deck chairs.
- Outdoor shower

Rental Details:
Nashaquisset offers (2) Har-Tru tennis courts, along with a newly renovated swimming pool and large sundeck. We'll coordinate your stay, send an informational package, answer your questions and help assure that your stay is a memorable one. Your home will be professionally cleaned weekly, prior to your arrival.
No pets. No smoking. Rental minimum is one week and turnover is Saturdays.
Just off bike path which circles the island.
Island bus stop at the end of our street provides public transportation to downtown and beaches. show more show less

Staying at Tuition's End was an absolute delight. The home had everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Between being an easy bike (or walk) to town or Surfside Beach, the community has a pool and tennis courts. Ron was very responsive and professional.

Cooks' serendipitous find

We were more than happy with the quaint, charming spacious cottage that breathes of the love and care the owners have placed and created for the house. This was also by far, the best stocked kitchen I have experienced in a rental, evidenced by the beautiful La Cornue stove. Lots of books to entertain during a rainy day. Notably, the owner took care to address all questions and concerns in advance of a difficult year with the ongoing COVID pandemic. Not that we had any huge ones, but the attention was well appreciated. Owner is highly responsive. Perfect location for us - but we know where we prefer to stay in Nantucket. show more show less

Wonderful place and stay.
We loved it. The house is lovely and is decorated for someone to live in, not rent, so it has everything and is very comfortable. Awesome grill if one wants to cook a night or two. Very helpful and pleasant host Ron. I’d rent again without hesitation.

This is an excellent home. The owner provides very clear and full details of the property. While the location is a short distance outside Nantucket town, it is very well located to explore the island. In addition, you have access to a swimming pool and tennis courts. Overall I would highly recommend a stay at this property.

This is an excellent property for a family of 4 to 6 people. A car or bicycle is useful as the property is on the edge of town but we walked every day and evening into down town Nantucket approx 20 mins each way. We used the local buses to transport us to the beaches. It is very much home from home,with every thing provided in the property. A very comfortable house and having use of the tennis courts and swimming pool are an added bonus. Every thing described is in the property.

The house location on the island is excellent, on the bike and bus route, easy to get to town and the beaches, The house is charming, clean and comfortable and has a great yard. Close to tennis courts and the community pool. Great out door shower, too! The host Ron was easy to communicate with and offered lots of great advice.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tuition's End on Nantucket. The house was exactly as picture - comfortable, charming and extremely convenient to downtown Nantucket. Lovely week on the island! Ron was very thoughtful and thorough and was extremely responsive. I had excellent communications with him prior to arrival and he was helpful in passing along activity recommendations. When we arrived, he made sure to call and be available if we had questions about the house. We were drawn to Nantucket by it's history with the Sea. We had vacationed on Nantucket several times and then had an opportunity to buy our home in 1995, which we named Tuitions End. We have added many custom and personal touches which enhance the comfort of our guests, as well as high tech features, such as high speed wireless internet, computer and printer, stereo system with Sonos and IPhone connections, plus CD player and music library. Digital cable HD TV's, with attached Apple TV's, provide access to over 100 new and classic movies from each TV in the loft/media room and both bedrooms. We have kept the home unique with a beach side country decor, comfortable sofas and custom bookcases loaded with collections of Nantucket history, cook books, reference books, novels and European travel books. The spacious and private patio has both sunny and shady areas to accommodate reading, relaxing and entertaining. Tuitions End is a short walk to town, shopping, restaurants, the waterfront and beaches.

What is special about this property?
Located in the village of Nashaquisset on Nantucket Island. Nashaquisset is a self contained village with a private heated pool and two Hartrue tennis courts and close to Nantucket downtown, shopping, restaurants, island bike paths, Island bus stop, and several beaches. A large Stop and Shop Grocery is close by, as well as a pharmacy and restaurants.

Tuitions End is a close walk to everything (downtown, food, shopping, beaches, bike paths), yet far enough away for privacy. The home is unique with it's comfortable furnishings, spacious private patios and side yard, rental owner management for responsive service and well maintained grounds. Extensive biking and hiking paths connect the island with our local access path less than 2 blocks away. The island WAVE bus network has a stop one block away and provides transportation to the popular beaches and downtown.

A car may not be needed, as everything is a short walk. A bike rental is close by, and many guests bring their own bikes. A lockable bike rack is on our shed back wall. If you choose to bring your car, our driveway holds one car.

All linens are furnished, and weekly cleaning service is included.

Property contains smoke, fire and CO2 detectors on all floors, exterior night lighting, fire extinguisher in kitchen and first aid kit in downstairs bathroom.

Nantucket Island is an historic, sea side village located 26 miles out to sea, that has maintained its wonderful charm. Our home is located in the small community of Nashaquisset that provides a tranquil place to get away and enjoy family and friends, and includes a private, heated swimming pool and Har Tru tennis courts, as well as a close proximity to down town, shopping and restaurants.

We have owned Tuitions End for 24 years and each year add upgrades and improvements to keep the property in top shape for our guest's enjoyment. We love the island and are always accessible to answer any questions and ensure our guests enjoyment of Nantucket.
