Welcome to the Eldridge House! This bright, spacious 4 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath home in the Historic District of Vineyard Haven has been lovingly restored. Walking distance to the ferry, shops, theaters and restaurants as well as Owen Park Beach. A little over a mile to Tashmoo and the Town Beaches and a drive over the bridge will take you to Eastville Beach and Oak Bluffs in 5 minutes. A large lawn and mature plantings that provide a private space is your backyard in the heart of town. The Queen en suite is the only bedroom on the main level. The 2nd floor has a King en suite as well as a Queen bedroom that shares a full tub hall bathroom with a twin/double bedroom. There is a half bath on the main level off the foyer. There is also a piano that you are welcome to play. A well equipped Chefs kitchen and both indoor and outdoor dining areas. Grill dinner on the back deck, relax in a hammock under the shady trees and toast marshmallows at the fire pit in the evening. Lawn & beach chairs, coolers, towels and fresh linens are all provided. Full laundry on the 2nd floor, central A/C and plenty of off street parking. This home is charming, comfortable and convenient all year long!

    I have lived on Martha's Vineyard since 2003. I love being on the water and feel fortunate to live so close to the ocean. Although it was stressful at times I enjoyed the time and work it took to renovate this home. I am fortunate to be able to share this unique and special destination with friends, family, and my guests.

    What is special about this property?
    A historic home, originally built by Captain George Eldridge for his sister in 1880. Visit the Martha's Vineyard Museum in Vineyard Haven to see more on Captain Eldridge's family and the homes he built. This home has been completely renovated with top of the line appliances, wood floors throughout and central A/C. It is warm, bright and spacious. It has all the amenities and comforts of a modern home while maintaining an 'historic' feel. In addition it has a large backyard with beautiful shade trees, mature plantings and outdoor seating areas on the lawn and back deck. The central location and walking distance to everything you could need is a much loved convenience.

    What is special about your town?
    The house is located in the heart of the village of Vineyard Haven, the Islands port town. Within easy walking distance to shops, theaters, markets, cafes, the Ferry, Owen Park and the town beach. It's also a short drive or bike ride to the neighboring town of Oak Bluffs and just 10 minutes more to reach Edgartown or West Tisbury.
