Sharon Strimling has lived on Martha's Vineyard full time now for 25 years, but vacationed on the island as a child well before then. Since the moment she first stepped off the ferry at 8 years old, Martha's Vineyard has been her heart home. Now it gives her great joy to see others fall in love with the Vineyard while basking in her dearly loved homes.

Sharon's favorite morning routine in Vineyard Haven is to walk down the hill to the lagoon with her paddle board, paddle out under the drawbridge to the beach, take a swim, cruise over to town for a smoothie from Blissed Out on Main Street and return home for a cup of tea on her deck.

In Oak Bluffs, her morning routine is to run through the beautiful nature trails a short jog away from her Oak Bluffs house, come back for a delicious smoothie in the hot tub, and then walk down the street to the local coffee shop for a cup of tea and to say hi to friends gathering there.

Her nieces and nephews, on the other hand, get far more excited about the after-dinner walk from the Oak Bluffs house down to the arcade and ice cream shop, and watching the nightlife on Circuit Ave!

The tale of a perfect little house

I fell in love with this house the minute I saw it. It took me a full winter to be able to purchase the house because the owner did not want to disappoint another person who'd looked at the house previously, even though there was no contract of any kind. She risked losing the sale to do this, but felt it was only right to try to find this person who was by then out of the country and difficult to track down. She knew how much I loved the house, and after several long months she called to say it was mine if I still wanted it, and I could take a few days to let her know. I told her I didn't even need a few minutes. No other house that I had seen captured my heart as this one had.
