Built in 2000, the house is a reverse contemporary style of about 2,000 square feet. Upstairs is an open sky-lit living area with a gas ''wood'' stove, a stunning 44-inch Sony Bravia HDTV with Direct TV service, DVD, VCR, and an awesome sound system. Three sliders open to a large deck overlooking the yard, gardens, and protected woodlands. This upstairs deck features a nice gas grill, a hammock, two umbrella tables with seating for eight. The kitchen, half bath, and grand dining table (with seating for eight) are also upstairs. Two industrial ceiling fans in the upstairs living area, with windows all around, keep it cool and breezy on those summer days.
One upstairs sofa converts into a queen bed. A self-inflating mattress is available as a mattress top - or it can be used separately on the floor. There's plenty of space. Some of our guests say the upstairs living area is actually the nicest bedroom because you are just a few feet from the refrigerator and you wake up to a view of the trees.
The three bedrooms, each with a ceiling fan, are located downstairs. The master bedroom is a private suite with its own bath, TV/VCR, and slider to the delightful downstairs deck with rocking chairs. Another bedroom with twin single beds and TV/VCR/radio also opens to the deck. And a lovely corner bedroom - so cozy with a comfy queen bed - is just
across the hallway from another full bathroom. A convenient washer and dryer with ironing board and iron are also located downstairs in the bedroom area.
The house is tastefully carpeted in the living area and bedrooms. The kitchen and dining area are hardwood. The house's decor is subtle and the colors are neutral. All rooms are nicely decorated.
With ample linens, blankets, pillows, towels, beach blankets, umbrellas, and coolers, you don’t need to bring much with you to have an enjoyable Vineyard stay. The kitchen is totally equipped – with all the pots, pans, utensils, appliances, dishes, flatware, food storage containers, fine cutlery, and gadgets befitting the most demanding of chefs. A fine assortment of tools for grilling is available. The grill, a fabulous MHP, is connected to the house's gas line so you will never run out of propane.
The house has a portable crib (with sheets and blankets), a high chair, and a baby gate. Additional baby items can be rented nearby.
Five well-maintained adult English Raleigh bicycles await you in the basement. The slider entrance to the walkout basement is a convenient place to store your own bikes, too.
Inside and out, this home is a tranquil retreat that is a vacation location itself, never mind the beautiful island.
