Great location! No Cape traffic… and just over the Sagamore Bridge to the seaside, Town Neck area of Sandwich. This vacation home can sleep 8-10 guests, comfortably, with linens included, offers a variety of amenities, and has plenty of parking for vehicles or even your boat. It is positioned in a quiet neighborhood, facing Cape Cod Bay, where you feel the ocean breezes and smell the invigorating scents of the sand and surf. It is less than 200 yds. to the beach and a short walk to the town boardwalk where you can kayak or canoe, ride the canal's bike path, fishing and boating at the Sandwich Marina with a public launch, convenient to Joe's Lobster market, as well as Seafood Sam's, Aqua Grille and Hemisphere, with breath-taking views and sunsets over Cape Cod Bay and the Canal. Our vacation home has all the comforts of home that you would need to enjoy Cape Cod anytime of the year. Also, it is located within a half mile of village shops and restaurants, ice cream, mini-golf, bicycle rentals and ...historic Sandwich village where you can visit the Sandwich Glass Museum, The World-Famous Daniel Webster Inn and Spa and The Heritage Museum and Gardens.

The vacation home has water views from the second floor deck, where you’ll find a lounge and rocker for sitting out in the mornings or late afternoon upon return from the beach and also, a first floor deck with an outdoor dining area. As well, a spacious front and back yard with lush, green grass to sit and relax after your outdoor shower, to enjoy the garden foliage while laying on the hammock or dine at the picnic table for lunch in the afternoon on the gas grill.

Vacationers are encouraged to take advantage of Sandwich recreation areas where you can bike or roller-blade down the canal's path, fish off the canal's jetty, canoe and kayak in the marsh inlets, and walk the famous, Sandwich Boardwalk and through the town's village. All of these amenities are in walking distance from our vacation home.

As well, there are several beaches in Sandwich which are public. Town Neck Beach, which is in walking distance, can also be parked at for a daily fee. As well, the Sandy Neck Beach destination is a short, drive to the east in the Town of Sandwich. Our neighborhood is a residential, beach area that is great for early morning and evening walks to watch Cape Cod's sunrise and sunsets!

We understand that traveling from far-away destinations can be challenging. We make every effort to accommodate our guest in any way we can. We do provide some extra's that might make your travel plans a little easier. At our home, we do have beach chairs, a beach cooler, and some toys for younger children to use. As well, for families traveling with infants or toddlers, we can provide a high chair, swing, and a gate for the stairs. Beautiful Yard

We had a nice beach week in Sandwich this August and the owner allowed our dog (yay!). Very quiet neighborhood. Lots of friendly people walking dogs. The home is laid out nicely and had much of what we needed. Linens were included (nice bonus). A/C units keep it plenty cool when humid. Gorgeous yard, lots of space (not totally fenced in). 10 minute walk to town beach (really rocky, but lovely) and 15/20 min walk (5 min drive) to Boardwalk Beach (our new favorite!).

I would recommend for sure with a few caveats- 1) no water view from the home at all, maybe a while ago before trees grew or in winter. 2) A large male pit bull dog lives next door and barked when we were outside, this would have been great to know before renting. 3) Pay the extra $ to get the home cleaned. It took us 3 hours to complete before leaving on the last day.

While this review points out many of our great amenities to our home and has an average of 4/5 stars, a review written in this manner concerns me as a homeowner and for possible, future guests with WNAV. Melissa B. was a guest of Katherine B. who was the person legally responsible for the vacation stay. The person responsible for the stay signs all legal documents and policy information regarding their vacation stay and may or may NOT share this information with their family or guests. Therefore, (and as I just learned) ANY guest can and may write a review that is unfair and contradictory because they may not have access to information. While WNAV now presents a "new" guest policy that is believed to support transparency for all, they neglect to admit that they could potentially and may allow posts that are incorrect and/or misleading, ruin a homeowners 5 star rating, and affect the great,business name that we have spent years building.

ADVICE TO ALL NEW OR RETURNING GUESTS: Read the property description carefully and ask plenty of questions to make sure that the home you are inquiring about is a good fit for your family. Do inspections of the home when you arrive and document/inquire about any concerns you have initially to alleviate any confusion of findings. Keep in mind that many neighbors live on the Cape year round and would prefer their neighborhoods to remain the same. We try our best to keep everyone happy but by no means are allowed to disclose information about our neighbors on this website. As a guest responsible and liable to the contract/policy information, be sure to read carefully and ask any/all questions you have about the property, its description, the area, the contract, policies and deposits/fees (refundable and non-refundable) associated with your stay and to the homeowner prior to signing a contract or policy information and your vacation stay.

As homeowners, we have very clear of our expectations for our vacation home and guests. And, we have had excellent guests over the years which is why we have stayed doing business with WNAV. As guests, be upfront about your arrival and departure times, and be aware your responsibilities as guests in which you have signed a legal contract for. Schedule a visit to view the home and area if possible prior to your stay. If there is something you wish for prior to, during, or at the end of your stay-just ask. We are in the business of accommodating guests and find it most important have open lines of communication with all of our guests.

While we understand that it is difficult to accommodate everyone all of the time, we strive to do our very best to present a site that gives possible guests a description and gallery that is identical to our home. And, that is one comment we always hear from our guests-"It's exactly like the website looks and says." Fantastic Summer Location

We stay at the Cape once a year and we always rent a house through weneedavacation.com or vrbo.com. We like to have a home that is either on the water or close enough to it that the kids (2 and 5) don't complain about the walk or what they have to carry to the beach. This home definitely fits the bill - you take a very short walk down the street and you're at Hemispheres restaurant and parking lot, which is right on the beach and very near the Cape Cod Canal's entry. The beaches along this stretch have a large grain sand, more like smoothed tiny pebbles, and lots of seashells and crabs (we even found a starfish there!).

The home is also minutes from one of our favorite sites - the Sandwich boardwalk. The kids love to traverse the long boardwalk over the marsh to the beach, and we love picking up some gourmet lattes at The Coffee Roost or stopping off for quiche and a sweet treat at Beth's Special Teas Bakery & Coffee Shop on Jarves Street. Of course the kids would say the best spot in town is Ice Cream Sandwich, which features homemade ice cream.

Sandwich is a nice, quiet town, and that fit our desire for a relaxing vacation. The house is roomy and has two good sized bedrooms with queen beds, plus another bedroom with twin beds and a bunk bed. The kids went nuts over the bunk bed! Good quality linens are provided and are waiting for you on each bed. All of the beds were very comfortable. It's a comfy home in general.

We spent a lot of time in the back yard, my husband read almost an entire novel relaxing in the hammock. He made good use of the grill and made us ribs, burgers, and hot dogs. There is a nice seating area, good grass, and a pleasant garden area with lovely hydrangea.

The kids also liked the lovely side porch seating area and the second floor patio seating (complete with rocker). We enjoyed the amenities - the house had everything we needed, especially the well stocked kitchen and lots of toys for the kids hidden away here and there (my son found the box of Legos within 5 minutes of arrival). The instructions for the house were very thorough.

The pictures were very accurate, the house is very clean and it does feel like a home away from home. If you want a quiet vacation that is near to all the things in town you need plus a short walk to the beach, then you'll enjoy this place as much as we did.

"We love the Town Neck area, and this house was perfect. It's very well maintained and comfortable. We had 2 couples and 2 teenagers and always had enough room to be comfortable. The back yard was amazing - chairs, grill, hammock, picnic table. The Grocery store, CVS, bank, gas and great Pizza are just around the corner. We were able to walk to Hemisphere and eat dinner, too! We also choose Sandwich because it's easy on and off the Bridge - hardly any traffic to battle! We have already penciled in next years visit. Communication with the owner was wonderful - we set an initial tour and communicated via email." show more show less
