Alexandra and Allan's cottage was the perfect location for my family. Everything in Edgartown is walkable from the front door. The peaceful Sheriff's Meadow Sanctuary is less than a minute up the road. They were also quick to recommend a local auto repair shop when our car battery died. Lovely house, plenty of room for my family of 5 and comfortable with the mini splits as an option to cool down the house.

We LOVED our stay! Charming old home in perfect location- walk to woods, water and restaurants. Peaceful and serene. Just know it's an old with some old house issues. A few repairs were needed, some done after we left- because- owners were caring and didn't want to intrude on our 'space'. Since we love old houses-and restored a very old home- we know what old houses offer, so this was a dream for us!

Alexandra and Allan are great hosts and the house is charming. Walking distance to town, right next to a pretty pond, a great spot for seeing the Vineyard.

Truly the most beautiful and welcoming antique Vineyard home. She's full of love and life! We had an amazing stay and loved the private, yet right in town location, the peaceful back yard, the cozy rooms, and all around serene nostalgia. No shelf is without books, no wall without art. We felt cared for and at home here!!

This house is a gem in terms of absolutely beautiful romantic and artful decoration and the best location - walking distance from everything in Edgartown but completely quiet and tucked away next to a little pond with a beautiful trail around it. The outdoor shower is the best, showering amidst beautiful bushes and trees, so zen! The living room is cozy for a rainy day. The dining area is fresh and beautiful.

Mind you, if you're looking for polished luxury, this is not your place. The bathrooms are dated and all furniture old/antique. All upstairs 3 bedrooms open up into each other, so good for kids, but not necessarily with friends. The upstairs bathroom only has a bath without a shower head. The small bedroom downstairs is very cute and has it's own bathroom with shower.

We had a wonderful stay at Alexandra & Allan's house. It's an extremely charming old house full of original art and interesting books and the location can't be beat - would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful stay and loved both the house as well as its central location. Access to walking trails and local beaches was a plus as was the very comfortable back yard which provided a perfect outdoor space for reading and relaxing. The kitchen was adequately equipped and the common spaces were well set up for hanging our. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful and well-preserved home that really makes you feel like you've gone back in time to the early MV days, but with modern-day amenities. The home is well-equipped for cooking and entertaining. The backyard is splendid and even bigger than the photos suggest. Master bed was firm and comfortable. Plentiful hot water and heat/AC in each room - a real benefit as we had our 1-year old with us, but didn't need to be worried about his room being too hot or too cold. Amazing time-period details throughout the home. Location is perfect for being close to town, but on a private, quiet street. The proximity to Sheriff's Pond is great too. Highly recommend.

The most adorable beach cottage in the best location!! Very close to Edgartown shops and restaurants, and a bike ride away from so many gorgeous beaches! Highly recommend!

Great family place
My wife, 3 kids and I stayed for a week at Allan's place and had a great time. Location of the house is amazing, just a few minutes walk always from town and town beaches. The garden is great for BBQs.

Our family had such a wonderful stay at Alexandra and Alan's house and definitely recommend it! The location is absolutely incredible - it's on a quiet, private road that is no more than a 10-minute walk (or even quicker than 10 minutes if you aren't toting kids or belongings with you) to all of the shops and restaurants in downtown Edgartown, to the Chappy ferry and to Fuller Street and Lighthouse beaches. The walking trails around Sheriff's Pond are also just steps from the front door. We really couldn't have asked for a better location for convenience to everything! The house was very clean and has so much character and charm. Our kids loved their cozy bedrooms, and the house is well-stocked with everything you might need. It is exactly as described in the listing and worked very well for our family of 2 adults and 3 young children. Alexandra and Alan were lovely hosts! Alexandra was so easy to communicate with and so welcoming - even offering to let us use their bikes - and she gave us some great info about having groceries delivered on the island. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay in this house and hope to come again someday!

Alexandra and Allan's house is absolutely lovely. The location is perfect - right in the heart of Edgartown, but just around a couple of corners, away from any noise or traffic, next to a glorious pond. The house is comfortable, well-appointed, and beautiful, filled with evidence of A+A's fantastic taste. Alexandra and Allan, themselves, are superb hosts; as good as any we've ever had on Airbnb; communicative, helpful, friendly, and prompt. If you're looking for a terrific house on Martha's Vineyard, you'd be lucky to stay here.

This house is charming and as another reviewer said...location, location, location! The location couldn't be more convenient to Edgartown village. Short walk to coffee, shopping, restaurants, galleries, and ice cream. Also convenient ride to bike paths and the Fuller Street beach.

The listing description is accurate. The house is full of antiques, original art, variety of books, and interesting objects and definitely has a bit of a nostalgic feel. We had everything we needed to have a fun family vacation: well equipped kitchen, plenty of towels, shampoo, soap, toilet paper, etc., beach chairs and umbrellas, WiFi inside and out, parking, a grill, and the outdoor shower.

If you're looking for shiny and new, look elsewhere! If you love antiques, art, and the character of an 1800's home, this is your place.

We had a great visit at this charming place. It was well furnished and stocked with the necessities. It definitely has a rustic feel which we loved. We find it very relaxing to have a place that has everything you need but is charming and peaceful with the feel of a real home. The location is outstanding. We loved the neighboring conservation land with the ice pond, walking to town, jumping on the Chappy Ferry and biking to nearby beaches. The hosts are super friendly and helpful. Places and people like this are what make AirBNBing so much fun.

The cottage is charming, steeped in history and set in a tranquil garden. The location is excellent - with great dining, quality shops, the docks and Edgartown's architectural highlights only a short walk away.
