This contemporary, sun-filled home sits atop a ridge, with the Cape Cod National Seashore forest as its backyard. The house is at the end of a private road off of Route 6 and is quiet and secluded while being easily accessible to beaches, towns and all the other amenities. Large windows, many living and entertaining areas, indoor and out, wooded surroundings and a fantastic view make this a great retreat.
The house is a 5-10 minute drive to several ocean beaches (Long Nook, Ballston and Coast Guard) and bay-side beaches (Corn Hill, Great Hollow), ponds (Great Pond is closest), and to Pamet Harbor; 12 minutes to Provincetown or Wellfleet; 5 minutes to the Truro Green or Truro Library. There are trails through the woods to the ocean shore, including a 30-minute walk to Long Nook Beach.
The two-story great room includes the kitchen, dining area and sofa area. The patio off the great room has a dining table and gas grill. Above the great room is a loft with a half bath and a reading area, plus a balcony and picture windows overlooking the National Seashore. Upstairs is a huge, sunny living room with high ceilings, three sofas, and a game table. Floor-to-ceiling windows with a balcony look out over the woods, while doors on the side access a patio with outdoor seating and a wildflower garden. Downstairs is another small living room with a third patio area that has a table and chairs.
There is also a large outdoor shower and hammock.
The house has 3 full bedrooms and easily sleeps up to eight, ten with sofa beds. The very large primary suite includes a queen bed and twin with trundle, and an en suite bathroom. One of the downstairs bedrooms has a queen bed, the other a full bed. The downstairs bedrooms have private entrances and share a bathroom. On the same level as the downstairs bedrooms, the smaller living room includes a sofa bed.
The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a convection oven, microwave, french press, mixer, pasta machine, blender and ice cream maker. There is a flat-screen TV in the great room and another in the smaller downstairs living room. Both TVs have basic cable and internet connections, with a Wii connected to one of them. And the house is well stocked with books, games and puzzles.
The rear of the property borders the Cape Cod National Seashore, over 4,000 acres of protected federal property that makes up much of Truro. In it are miles of hiking trails and fire roads, including trails that lead to spectacular sand dunes and pristine beaches that are only accessible by trail.
In addition to daytime beach excursions, you can get a beach fire permit from the Truro Department of Recreation and enjoy an evening beach bonfire under the stars.
