Mermaid’s Rest – Perfect Cape Cod Getaway!

We returned to Mermaid's Rest this year after a few years away and it was just as wonderful as ever. The cottage is just beautiful and the upgrades even since our last stay have made only positive enhancements. The outdoor shower has been expended and is very spacious. The washer and driver in the back shed was such a treat! When staying for 2 weeks I had considerable laundry needs and I was so glad to have them.
The pandemic cast a shadow on our plans (like everyone else this year) and Karen and Karen were so helpful in guiding us in making decisions about travel etc. They kept us posted about new policies and any adjustments that might need to be made.

We loved staying at the Mermaid's Rest! It was the perfect size for our family of 4, plus there was the bonus space with two beds up in the loft where our tween liked to hang out. When we weren't at the beach, we enjoyed relaxing on the screened-in porch. The house was very clean and beautifully decorated, and it had everything we needed to cook meals at home. It is on a quiet street just a 10-minute walk to a free beach which is never too busy - we were there every day birdwatching, collecting shells, and wading. We were also lucky enough to see foxes several times in the evenings. We would definitely stay here again! show more show less

This cottage has everything you could possibly think of. The decor throughout the cottage is amazing, tasteful, and well coordinated. We loved it here - there is nothing I could think of that could have been done differently.

So many times you see a place online, and you get there and you are disappointed - this will NOT be the case here - you will be impressed! It's only a very short walk to the local beach which is great for basking in the sun and for kids to play. You'll love it.

Karen & Karen are wonderful ladies and will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this vacation cottage. show more show less

We couldn't have asked for a better location.

Mermaids Rest is a perfect family getaway. The cottage is located on a quiet dead-end street...so quiet that our boys played baseball in the street each evening. Our two boys, ages 7 & 10, love the upstairs loft, and the 2nd downstairs bedroom worked perfectly for our 2-year old daughter. The cottage was very clean both times we have stayed, and the outdoor shower is amazing and HUGE!

Our little family of four really enjoyed Mermaid's Rest. The home is a short ten minute walk to the beach. The home has a Cape Cod beach house vibe with adorable decor and amenities. We would absolutely reach out to Karen and Karen for a return visit.

Our week at the Mermaid's Rest was perfection. This cottage is so cute, well appointed and very comfortable. The attention to details by the owners shows throughout the entire property. Owners were very responsive. Location is great, love the walk thru the path to Forest Beach. Would stay again and recommend.

Mermaid's Rest was a marvelous place to spend a week. We have spent years in the Pleasant Street / Forest Street Beach area but this is the first stay at Mermaid's Rest. Since the house is off the main road, it is a very quiet and restful. The screened-in porch is a terrific spot for breakfast and evenings just hanging out. The two downstairs bedrooms are well equipped to accommodate adults and teens. The upstairs loft area has a low ceiling so is a great escape for younger kids. Karen and Karen are extremely responsive to questions and have provided a lovely vacation home. show more show less

We stayed at Mermaids Rest the 2nd week in July and could not have had a better time! The cottage is adorable, very clean and well equipped. Our boys (ages 6 & 9) loved the loft and the 2nd downstairs bedroom worked as a perfect nursery for our baby girl. The short walk down a cool little path to the beach was a favorite, along with finding a million horseshoe crabs and playing t-ball right on the quiet dead-end street in the evenings. (I enjoyed a glass of wine on the screened porch and watched the action.)

This is a great neighborhood with friendly neighbors, and it could not be more quiet. We hope to return! show more show less
