Description

This antique Greek revival gem lovingly restored and maintained is located in town with water view of the closest saltwater beach, Oyster Pond. The Isaac Bea is one of two townhouses located in this family estate. Each has three bedrooms, one downstairs and two upstairs. The bathrooms have the original ball and claw footed tubs.

There is a new private outside shower where you can see the water as you take a shower. There is a large, new spacious deck where you can sit in the sun, enjoy views of the water, and feel the breezes from Nantucket Sound. There is a Weber gas grill and a picnic table in the garden as well as on the deck and many private places to sit quietly and read a book under a great shade tree.

The baseball park where the Chatham As play is across the street as well as the community center and a playground.

Step into the front door and witness all the original Greek revival details, which includes the wide pumpkin pine floors. This in-town house was converted back from an art gallery to living space in 2011. Three bedrooms with the first a guest room off of the kitchen with its own ''water closet.'' The eat-in kitchen has a new gas stove and an original farmer's sink and dishwasher and all one needs to prepare any meal.

The largest bedroom has a new king size bed and welcomes the morning sun. The bathroom has its original ball and claw foot soaking tub and hand held shower. The second bedroom provides a new queen size bed, and is located downstairs. The third bedroom with water views overlooking the gardens has two antique twin beds.

The caretaker and owner is a nurse, artist and avid gardener. There is always an organic vegetable and herb garden with extras to share. She calls her garden the ''Chatham Hare Farmlet.'' The garden spaces are a wonderful surprise right in the center of Chatham!!!

Enjoy the best that Chatham has to offer.

Lodging at the Isaac Young 1850 home has always been a special treat for me. Just steps away from the center of town, allows one to enjoy Chatham in the best of locations The apartment invites one to enjoy the ample space, the unusual decor, and the water view of Oyster Pond. Janet's back yard represents a treat that you will always treasure. The garden landscaping portrays Janet's style for being impeccable, with fruit trees and vegetable gardens. An outdoor shower should be an added treat. Best of all, Janet has many (20) gorgeous rabbits, and growing chicks that will love your attention. Stay at Janet's home and enjoy all the best that Chatham has to offer. Frederick J. Karol, PhD show more show less

This was my 4th summer and I love it here and plan to return next season.
The home is charming, I am across the street from the ball park and a short walk
from my daily swim. What more could I ask for other than to buy this place for myself!!!

My name is Janet, I am a RN and I have restored this antique and started renting
to summer guest in 2004. I keep a low profile in my basement apartment but I
am available for help and information. I am an artist and my work can be seen in my home
but also several shops and The Local Color Gallery. I am also an avid gardener and maintain
an organic veg garden. I am a member of the ARBA so we may have some baby bunnies as well as ''The Girls'' 10 chickens who provide organic eggs.
I pay attention to all the details that will make this a place that you will want to return to
for your next summer holiday in Chatham. My return business has been 50%

What is special about this property?
Location, Location, Location! We are in the center of town. Step out the front door to
all the summer activities that this seaside town has to offer with everything within
walking distance, which includes: grocery, pharmacy, full service laundromat, shops
restaurant, theaters, baseball field, playground, beach, library, community center.
golf course, tennis, fish pier, light house........ Walk out the deck door to a large spacious deck with water view that over looks beautiful spacious garden spaces. Bunnies, chickens and a small orchard of espalier pear, apple, cherry and peach trees. This antique estate has been lovely restored and thoughtfully decorated for comfort. It is the only house on main street that has these water views and spacious garden space in an antique historical estate.

What is special about your town?
Chatham is on the elbow of Cape Cod surrounded three sides by water. We have been recognized nationally for our historic village seaside community. We have many different
beaches from which to choose. We have our own Light House, recently the Finest
Hour was film. We have live theater, fish pier and museums. Seal watching anyone?
Great restaurants are within walking distance so if you would like to celebrate and have
a special bottle of wine, you can walk home!!! Also we are home of the Chatham
Anglers, our summer farm league where some famous Baseball players where recognized.
