Long Pond Lakefront - Beach In Your Backyard!

If you want privacy and love being surrounded by nature, this is the place for you! A long journey down a dirt road through conservation land brings you here, and it's the last house on the line. We recently stayed here for 4 nights and adored having our own beach! We were the first to ever stay in the house and look forward to returning next year.

The beach is small, lovely and south facing (great sunsets!) We were worried the pond might get deep too quickly or be mucky, but we didn't have to worry because it was all sand for many feet out into the water, and it got deeper only gradually. The water was so clear and warm! We rented paddle-boards from Ryan at SUPfari adventure, and the service was so good he literally brought the boards, paddles, and PFDs down the stairs to the beach for us, and picked them up there after we left. Definitely recommend them! There were some other boats and jetskis on the water, but we only saw them intermittently. It really mostly felt like it was our own private space, even the water. The pond proved so fun and easy that we did many less "Cape things" than we thought we would, since everyone really just wanted to hang out on the pond most of the day. I'm hoping by next year we will have some sort of boats or SUPs of our own that we can bring with us to the house.

Christie and Garran were great hosts and very thoughtful and responsive. They were also understanding when we caused some minor damage. They graciously let us bring our dog, and he had a blast hanging out on the beach with us. Christie and Garran were also open to feedback and plan to use a couple of our suggestions for future renters. They've already installed ACs since we left, so between the pond breezes and those, the temperature should be perfect, no matter the weather.

Generally speaking, the house is cozy and comfortable. The water pressure in the showers was surprisingly strong and lovely. Beds were cozy and the view from the dining table was a nice place to sit and wake up with a coffee. The spiral staircase did pose a challenge to our dog, so we took to using the staircase off the deck with him to go up and down. The staircase could be tricky for younger kids or people with mobility challenges, so keep this in mind. There are also just a good amount of stairs in general. But for our family with tween/teen children, it was just fine.
