South Wellfleet on the Ocean Vacation Rental - ID 31049

My family has been renting places in the area for over forty years and could not have been happier with this one - reasons one through three being the view, the view, and the view. In fact, I'm not sure it's possible to be on the premises without having a least one clear look at the ocean. The deck of the house might just as well be the deck of a ship. The house, too, is perfectly lovely. It somehow manages to feel well-appointed and luxurious even as it retains the original character of the National Seashore oceanfront properties. Not to sound too pampered, but the weekly visits by the maid service were no less appreciated - and totally unobtrusive. In sum, a wonderful, wonderful rental. We are three families who have been vacationing in the Cape for almost 50 years. We stay in Wellfleet or North Truro, typically the bay side. We were looking for a large home that would accommodate a party of 12 - children are all adults. We decided on this home and were not disappointed. We have never stayed anywhere where everything you might require was available. Beach chairs and umbrellas at the base of the staircase on the beach, a full array of linens, good size rooms and views beyond description. We were not disappointed and have told everyone, this was the best rental we have ever had. The host was easy to deal with and very responsive. show more show less

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Freeman house. Great location in the National Seashore with beautiful views. The house also allowed for easy access to all that Wellfleet has to offer. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. Beth kept us informed continuously and all aspects of the rental process went smoothly. Finally, I need to comment on how we were all very impressed with the bedding at the Freeman house. Most rental houses don"t pay enough attention to that aspect. Here all of the bedding was extremely comfortable and allowed for a great night"s sleep, and relaxing vacation. show more show less

Thank you for welcoming us into your home! We had the absolute best time ever at this beautiful beachfront home. I cannot imagine a more perfect place to stay in all of the Cape. This home is truly a gem and we look forward to visiting each year. It is the perfect home for our group, which included lots of kids. It is very clean, there is plenty of space for everyone, and it is so comfortable and makes you feel like home. We woke up each morning to an amazing, peaceful ocean view and enjoyed breakfast watching the waves. It is directly on the beach, so we could come and go easily. It is great for kids! We could spend part of each day on the beach since it's so close, and then quickly get to other activities like the bay, ponds, and town. All of the local restaurants are great, and the kitchen and deck are perfect for barbecues and meals at home. We are already counting down the days until our next visit. Our family has been vacationing in Wellfleet from Chicago for over 25 years and we have been fortunate to stay in what we call the "Stairway to Heaven" house many times. The house offers incredible views of the coastline and ocean from both the large deck and bedrooms. You have easy access to the beach down the stairs adjacent to the house and you can drive just a few blocks to any number of public beaches. We have 3 young kids (ages 9,7 & 4) and we often will visit several bodies of water in one day- ocean, bay & pond which are all just a walk or short drive (or bike ride) away.

Some of our favorite activities while here are hangin on the beach, paddle boarding at the pond, swimming in the bay, catching the latest movie at the Drive-In, grabbing drinks and dinner at the Beach Comber, Mini-Golf, enjoying the many great restaurants in town and spending time with family and friends.

Every year we return to the same house (8 years running) and it's always clean and in great condition. Whether you're relaxing in the hammock on the deck, barbecuing under the stars or sitting for breakfast at the kitchen table, we always are smiling and enjoying our time together here.

Our family looks forward to this week every year since it allows us to escape from Chicago and experience everything that Wellfleet and Cape Cod have to offer. We'll certainly be back and hopefully in this house every year. show more show less
