We are just completing our stay at this beautiful home in East Falmouth and have had an exceptional experience. The house is immaculate, thoughtfully and beautifully decorated, overlooking a pond that has magnificent view and for birdwatchers, a 'front row seat' to observe ospreys, red shoulder hawks, and Cape Cod birds that would meet Mike Faherty and WCAI's top list of places to do birdwatching! The neighborhood is quiet and yet close to Falmouth center and its lovely beaches….

The homeowner is thoughtful, and cares for her guests with a personal touch that makes the stay an experience in itself, a true Cape Cod 'escape', with all of the natural beauty and wonder that people come to this place to encounter, and to hold in memory. And this is in off season…I cannot imagine the joy of swimming in this pristine pond, and kayaking. Perfect vacation spot!

I would rate this home at a 10+. Within a modest/reasonable price range, for absolute value for a family seeking a 'home away from home'….Highly recommended.

    Amazing view

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend. Julia was a very accommodating host, allowing us to bring our dogs and to use canoes and gave us a lot of information about surrounding areas, restaurants, shopping etc. The view is spectacular, house is clean and spacious and in a very nice area. I would definitely recommend it.

The best thing about this home is the location. ie right by a quiet lake with access to boats and kayaks. The house is very comfortable in a quiet locale. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Excellent stay. The location is definitely this house's best feature. The house certainly had charm (on the old side) but that's not why we stayed. Right on the lake, we had a great time kayaking and taking the floats out. The lake was very clean and we enjoyed watching the ducks come and go from the deck. Had a great time making s'mores from the fire pit too.

The lake is amazing for swimming. Julia's house has a beautiful deck, and a great terrace, and also a great waterfront area with chairs. The water was perfect for swimming as late as the end of September, and I'd suspect it would remain warm enough well into October. It was fantastic.

We had a great time. The house is well equipped from kitchen to outdoors, and we didn't want to leave the house. The lake was super clean, we really enjoyed our time at this location. We highly recommend it. Thanks to the host.

Julia is extremely kind and responsive to every need! The lake right at the back of the house is so great. We were 6 adults and 1 puppy, we all had a blast (specially our pup). It would only be greater if there was a fenced space.
Only 1.5 hours away from Boston, so really convenient!
PD: The pictures don't do the house justice.

Our recent stay was awesome. The location is excellent with everything you need nearby. The beautiful lake was so peaceful! Our dog enjoyed splashing in the water. The house has everything you need to relax. Very clean! We traveled with our 90 year old aunt and the bedroom with bath was perfect for her.

Julia is a wonderful host. Will definitely book again!

Julia's place is cozy. The lake is gorgeous. The wildlife is abundant for anyone who loves birdwatching. We stayed in early April so we couldn't boat, but I imagine it would be amazing to just hop on a kayak each morning to paddle around the lake. Location is great too.

The place is remarkably clean and well maintained. The Lake is beautiful and fun to take the boat out in. The beds are a little uncomfortable but that might also be a matter of taste. The host is very nice and responsive. The location is also great, close to beaches, hiking, good places to eat and shop.

We bought this house because we like water and wild life. Water is warm to swim at the end of May - beginning of June. One can swim till October. In spite of water we practically do not have mosquito. We like plants and glad that we have wild orchids in the garden. We like to improve the house. We installed modern heating and cooling systems, made new hardwood floor and granite countertop, replaced windows and doors, etc. We like to meet people and happy when our tenants enjoy their vacation and come again year after year.

What is special about this property?
Our lake is an additional source of drinking water and very clean. It is small, but deep in the center 27.5 ft. There are big basses in the depth, smaller size fishes come close to the shore. Water is much warmer than in ocean, no big waves, no storms. Kayaking, fishing, swimming are enjoyable and very safe. We have kayak and inflatable boats with safety jackets. Children and adults of any age can relax near water, swim, kayak and fish. It is always light breeze from the lake. We do not have real summer heat or winter frost. Climate is mild and healthy.

What is special about your town?
There are many interesting places to visit in our area: world known Woods Hole Marine lab with its museum and aquarium is 22 min away. Sandwich has many interesting museums. Nice shopping and sightseeing in Falmouth. One can start walking just from the house. Very long and good bike trails. There are many picturesque ocean beaches very close, some of them less than 2 miles away.
If you check the satellite view you will see that our small lake is surrounded with forests. Large deer hunting facilities are nearby.
Falmouth is an ideal base for day-tripping to areas such as Plymouth, Martha’s Vineyard, Newport, Rhode Island, Boston, Provincetown, Nantucket, historic Nobska LIghthouse.
