IMPECCABLY MAINTAINED WITH ALL THE CHARM OF YESTERYEAR, rustic yet comfortable and newly refurbished to support the way we live today. A fully upgraded custom kitchen tastefully keeping with the character of our 18th century home is sure to inspire. A three-pane sliding glass door spills out into a private and fully paved patio surrounded by mature greenspace —just great for having morning coffee while listening to live birdsong up in the trees! Plenty of furniture to sit back and relax in throughout the home promises to suit your every mood.

LOCATED IN THE HEART OF WELLFLEET, OUR 18th CENTURY ANTIQUE FULL CAPE called a ''Double House'' during the 1700s is one of the most photographed properties in town! Situated in the 'Town Center' conservation area we offer immediate access to historic Duck Creeke. Abundant with aquatic wildlife and shoreline birds this tidal saltwater inlet is perfect for kayaking at high tide.

FEWER THAN 50 STEPS TO UNCLE TIM'S (walking) BRIDGE will set your journey across to Hamblin Island and all the way to Chipman’s Cove by footpath along the creeke at lowtide. Be sure to stop along the way to sign the Bench Book quietly waiting for the unsuspecting passerby inspired by the open salt air and visual beauty. You will love the soft, sinuous landscape as you explore the pastoral outdoors in a truly picturesque setting.

THE SHIP'S BELL SETS A NAUTICAL MOOD for you as it chimes from the Congregational Church bell tower much like it did onboard ships at sea since the early part of the 15th century. Our guests have found the experience both soothing and curious.

WELLFLEET IS KNOWN FOR IT’S OYSTERS, ART GALLERIES and critically acclaimed theater. Experience spectacular sunsets and a romantic beach fire on the bay. Walk to gourmet restaurants, fresh fish markets and village shopping. Yoga studios, massage therapists and acupuncturists are conveniently located right here in the neighborhood for both relaxing and recharging your spirit and soul.

OUR HOME IS A SHORT STROLL TO MAYO BEACH, THE HARBOR AND MAIN STREET in Wellfleet Center where you can spend your time swimming, playing tennis, basketball or listening to free live music events at Baker’s Field Tent. Wellfleet is brimming with entertainment at numerous venues throughout town all summer long. We boast an outstanding public library, host to poets, scholars, historians and classical musicians who offer us insight into their life’s work during the season long schedule.

HOP IN THE CAR FOR QUICK AND EASY ACCESS TO WELLFLEET'S UNIQUE KETTLE PONDS, the Cape Cod Rail Trail, the Audubon Society and magnificent ocean beaches along the Cape Cod National Seashore occupying 61% of Wellfleet's total landmass.

INCREDIBLY COMFORTABLE QUEEN BEDS, original millwork, trim, fireplaces and wide plank pine floorboards outfit each of the two bedrooms. Three double hung sash windows welcome luscious salt air breezes into each of these rooms. A/C is available throughout the home for those extra hot days of summer and so is a 42” flat screen HD television for watching your favorite flix.

A fully independent living space on the first and second floor of our home offers privacy and pleasure with spectacular wide-open scenic views of Duck Creeke and Hamblin Island.

YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL — Smack dab in the center of town. Spectacular tidal views of Duck Creek. Coastal bird sightings from the front steps of our home!

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU SOON!

A Wellfleet gem

We can, and will, fill in with the adjectives, but this pretty much is the heart of our review: we booked for four nights, extended at stay’s end to five nights and regretted on the way home not staying for a sixth night. We certainly agree with other positive reviews: charming, unbeatable location, a foodie’s kitchen, relaxing, great patio, etc. Restaurants, groceries, shops all walkable. Right across the street is a cool walking bridge crossing Duck Creek, where we found ourselves stopping each time we’d go out – day or night – to watch the swirling activities in the water below while the tides changed or the stunning number of stars in the sky. As a truly added feature that alone could pitch this rental, this lower floor unit – don’t think “basement” or dark or anything like that -- sits a block below the town clock that, enchantingly, rings in ship’s time (though it did take a full day to figure out how to decipher ship’s time). Brenda is a charming host who provided spot-on reviews of places to eat, walk, shop – as well as some good stories about Wellfleet and its people. The beds are seriously comfortable, artwork on the walls unique and with personal stories behind them, wide-plank wood floors impeccable, appliances and kitchen supplies just perfect (more and better than any vacation home we’ve stayed in), and the air conditioning cool and especially quiet. We visited during a relatively less hectic time on the Cape – mid-September – so it meant overhearing the conversations of locals in restaurants, not paying any fees at the beaches, an unending parade of seals swimming up and down the oceanfront (yes, didn't help my surf fishing), and enjoying warm days with zero humidity. Still, we’d recommend this place in any season, and hope to come back soon. show more show less

A Charming Character Home With Unique History!

• This very clean antique home complete with a way positive vibe was a fabulous experience for my husband and me. Never intrusive, Brenda was the quintessential host offering up historical information about the property and its connection to members of the artists colony who gathered here for art openings and informal social get-togethers. The location is unbeatable with beautiful views of the water. The town center is practically around the corner. The antique furnishings are well appointed with a full display of character and charm. A lot of thought went into putting this place together and it shows. We cannot speak more highly of the comfortable beds and tasteful room darkening shades! The kitchen is fully equipped making it possible to cook in with all the comforts of home. The private garden patio is an awesome space to chill out—we especially enjoyed having our morning coffee hanging outside and up close with the birds. A refreshing change from the cutesy housekeeping beach cottages we are familiar with on Cape Cod. Quiet Minds Studio was a great find offering massage and acupuncture for that special spa day we all deserve from time to time, all within a three minute walk, (no kidding). Payomet offered up some great music and our favorite places to eat were the Black Fish Restaurant, Ceraldi's, and at the latest in food truck cuisine now located in town. Sole's truck can be found parked down at the pier and Joey's is over by the Mayo Beach Tent. This was, for us, a very cool Austin meets Wellfleet experience. So much is going on in Wellfleet. WHAT theater has some of the best summer stock performances we've seen in all our years traveling. Overall our stay exceeded our expectations at this relaxing retreat in the Wellfleet Village. A rejuvenating get away, memorable to say the least! show more show less

Beautiful and Charming

My mother, teenage daughter and I absolutely adored this home in Wellfleet. It is in a charming area of the Cape, not at all commercial. We delighted in Brenda's lovely home. It truly has high grade amenities - retro style, modern stove, low impact front load washer and dryer, soapstone (I believe) counters and sink ! This is all balanced beautifully with the original wide plank floors and hardware, not to mention a spectacular view. GORGEOUS. Brenda was so delightful and interesting, (Not to mention thankfully patient and laughing when we set off the smoke detector broiling steak!) yet discreetly departing to leave us to experience our adventure. I believe it was the only place my 72 year old mother seemed truly at peace during our 2 week long road trip. All 3 of us felt we could live there forever. We remember it fondly and would HIGHLY recommend this home. show more show less

Classy and cute, right on the water

We had a magnificent three nights in this creekside garret. The thoughtfully chosen antique chairs and couch were a great change from the usual mass-produced vacation chic that most rentals by the beach are awash in. The location is unbeatable: Everything in Wellfleet was in walking distance, and it was so relaxing to be able to go dinner or coffee or hop up to the library without getting in the car. And in the evenings, we could walk right across the wooden footbridge to take in the sunset, watch the tide roll in, or gawk at thousands of stars. The ocean with its majestic dunes and watchful seals was a quick car ride away, as were the wild walking trails of Great Island. The kitchen was entirely equipped. We had many splendid meals on the trip, including enormous breakfast burritos at Box Lunch and a fine salmon at the Wicked Oyster, but the best meal was easily Blackfish in Truro--which, if memory serves, was Brenda's excellent recommendation. Speaking of which, Brenda was an excellent host--helpful at the outset and then left us to our own devices. A memorable and rejuvenating getaway! show more show less
