Description

Description

Built in the late 40's, this two bedroom, brick cottage with fireplace, pine wood floors, and amazing charm is conveniently situated on Mayo Beach in Wellfleet. If you appreciate a calm, warm water ocean setting for your family with no traveling to the beach, you will love Beach Rose Cottage #2. If surfing size waves are your cup of tea or a swim in a freshwater pond, all these are available in Wellfleet as well.

Comfort focused renovations such as solar panels, AC/Heat split, original art, wifi, cable, dishwasher, electrical upgrades & outdoor enhancements have not altered the cottage's classic New England character.

Literally 35 steps away from the bay, down the road from a full playground which includes a skate park, tennis and basketball courts, daily summer activities. A short walk to Wellfleet Harbor & town- this location is perfect! You are 15 minutes from Provincetown and Orleans by car and all the entertainment & restaurants that these artist's colonies have to offer. Whether you seek the tranquility of endless hours on the beach or a little excitement on a rainy day, it is all nearby. Wellfleet is notorious for its 1950s style outdoor family drive-in theater and is certainly one of the most beautiful New England towns on the Cape. Come have a Cape Cod experience of a life time. This cottage sits side by side to another 2 bedroom brick cottage with full amenities (see Property ID #31649). Both have fenced in back yards and grassy areas for play and relaxation. They both are steps from Mayo Beach and the Wellfleet Harbor and town. Off street parking is included. read more show less

    Family Fun and Relaxation

This beautiful college is a great place to stay. You can open the door, and the beach is a few feet away, and a few more feet down the street is a park (tennis, pickleball, skate park, and kids climbing/sliding structures). Next to the park, there is a book store and many places to eat; from sit-down, dinner theater, to takeout. If you want a place to stay in Wellfleet and do little to no driving, this is perfect. The cottage has all you will ever need and more (laundry as well!). It is super cute and classic Cape. You will have the ever-loved outdoor shower that is a blessing after a day at the beach, and you can cook inside or outside. If it is too hot, the AC unit will cool you down, and then you can chill on the couch with the TV/Cable/Netflix setup. This is our third stay here, and we plan on many more. show more show less

The property was easy to find and Parking was a cinch. We were both impressed that for the size of the cottage from the outside, how perfect, quaint and well appointed it was. If we had stayed here longer than three nights which is already in the plans for next year, I’m sure we would have used more in the kitchen than just the coffee maker, wine opener, and fridge… as it truly does have about everything you could ask for. We took note of some of the recommended restaurants out of the guestbook provided. We had one dinner at the Pearl which was great, though I would get just the regular size lobster roll next time. We had breakfast every morning at the Wicked Oyster – excellent! Mayp Beach was nice and quiet and had very little wind. After touring the beaches on the Atlantic side, I truly believe you are wiser to book a cottage on the Bayside and travel to Marconi beach or Calhouna Beach for the day. It’s just nice not have to deal with the wind as much at your homebase beach. It also seem to be warmer back at the cottage because there wasn’t as much win. All in all, a wonderful spot to call home for a while. Thanks Rosemary for making such a nice spot available. show more show less

We loved his cottage! We have stayed at so many different places on the Cape but this is the best by far. The cottage has everything you could need. The kitchen is well stocked, there is beach gear and you are across the street from the beach. This was the best vacation my family of four has ever had. We could walk to the beach, the playground and park, basketball courts and had a couple restaurants to choose from. If we have had any questions or if something came up, we could be in touch with Rosemary and she was fantastic. Can’t wait to get back to this wonderful cottage to have another fantastic vacation. show more show less

Myself, my son and his two teenage daughters just had a delightful stay at Rosemary’s cottage. The cottage is so charming. The beds were very comfortable, the cottage was extremely clean, and although the size might appear to be small, once we got there we were so pleased with how well we all fit. The kitchen is equipped to the tea. There were more shiny pots and pans and we could ever use – whatever we needed, it was there. The outdoor sitting area as were delightful. The neighborhood was perfect. Very peaceful and quiet. We rented bikes for two days and the rest Road the Cape Cod myself, my son and his two teenage daughters just had a delightful stay at Rosemary‘s cottage. The cottage is so charming. From there we drove up the road to the visitor center which is not to be missed. This cottage more than lived up to our expectations and we would definitely hope to come back someday. We live in California and Arizona so not an easy track. But Cape Cod was awesome as was the cottage!! show more show less

This cottage is the perfect getaway spot. The location is ideal, close to everything Wellfleet has to offer but still quiet and private. Proximity to the beach can’t be beat. The cottage itself is both cozy and modern and has all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay: full kitchen, dishwasher, laundry, outdoor shower, gas fireplace, flat screen TVs and Internet/plus Google TV. I have stayed here many many years and the college is always impeccable we maintain. I’ve had no complaints but the owner is always prompt in responding to any questions or need I might have. Well Wellfleet is uniquely beautiful, with a wide variety of activities for everyone. I wouldn’t go anywhere else! show more show less

I absolutely love hosting renters to my property. I have many return guests who I consider friends. I first began visiting the Cape in the 1980s and have owned my cottages since 1999. Wellfleet is one of the most amazing towns on all of the Cape and I absolutely love it. Mayo Beach provides a warm, gentle experience for those who enjoy a tranquil ocean experience. I have always loved time here year around. It’s a mistake not to consider a beach vacation in the quiet off season. In many ways winter is my favorite time for reflection, writing, photography and all contemplative or artistic endeavors. My life’s work has been education.

What is special about this property?
Renters say that my cottages feels so cozy, warm and like a home away from home. Renters also say that I’ve thought of everything anyone might need - whether it’s in the kitchen or throughout the rest of the cottage. Details like a sewing kit or emergency lighting. The kitchen in particular provides those who love to cook all the important tools. There is every type of glassware whether you’re having an iced tea, beer, whiskey, a martini, or drinking champagne, red or white wine. Even families that have spent Thanksgiving or Christmas at the cottage say they were able to cook their traditional meal with no limitations. All linens are provided. I ask that you bring beach towels however. There are umbrellas and beach chairs in the back shed and a free full-service front loading laundry

What is special about your town?
Wellfleet is the quintessential New England town. Historic architecture, fine dining, great drive-in restaurants and well stocked liquor in grocery stores. The people are friendly, helpful, and there is so much to do. Water sports, including fishing and boating, golf, biking, hiking and great outdoor entertainment. The cottage is just down the road from a wonderful playground that includes equipment and activities for children and adults. This includes basketball, tennis, a skateboard park and a wonderful child playground. There are daily activities in the summer at the park for young children. There is Shakespeare on Tuesday evenings at the park and dancing at the Harbor on Wednesday evenings.
