This newly renovated, clean home is your perfect home away from home. Set back from Route 28 on 1.8 private acres abutting conservation land and a Cape Cod kettle pond, this retreat property offers the ultimate in privacy within 1 mile of Chatham's downtown district.

A complete interior remodel was completed in 2016 and state of the art heating and central A/C were added. The property can sleep up to 9 people with three separate bedrooms and one additional ''flex'' room. There are two full bathrooms, both with full tub/shower units. There is a full-size stacked washer & dryer on the main level. The private bedroom on the lower, walkout level offers two full size beds and a fold-out futon, an en-suite bathroom and a sliding glass door that opens to a brick patio overlooking the pond. Right outside of sliding glass door is a newly built outside shower.

The master bedroom on the main level offers a queen size bed and two closets. The second bedroom on the main level is ideal for children with a bunk bed which features an additional trundle bed for a third child. Both the living room and the sun room offer pull-out couches. All bedrooms have flat screen televisions. The well appointed kitchen with a breakfast bar, open floor plan and large wood deck are ideal for entertaining and enjoying your stay in Chatham!

    This is a family owned home that holds many happy memories. The house was completely renovated in 2016 and this is only our second year renting. We are hoping that our renters will love this location as much as we do.

    What is special about this property?
    This is a family property that has been passed down several generations. Our grandparents, George and Betty Edson, purchased the property in the mid-fifties and built the home at the rear of a nearly 12-acre parcel of land. Several years ago, our family sold a large tract of the land to the Conservation Commission in order to preserve the natural beauty of the surrounding area. The three current owners all spent countless hours in this welcoming house and explored the woods and pond as children. The beauty of this property is the privacy it affords while being so close to the downtown district of Chatham as well as the area's beautiful beaches and harbors. Outside the hustle and bustle of the lively town of Chatham in summertime, this property offers a place to catch your breath and relax in peace and quiet. Literally at the end of the long, retreat driveway is a full service restaurant and bar.

    What is special about your town?
    From this property you can walk to downtown Chatham with its many restaurants and shops within 1 mile. Attend a first-rate movie theater at the Chatham Orpheum Theater, attend a Chatham Anglers Baseball game at Veteran's Field, watch fishing boats unload their catch daily at the Chatham Fish Pier, enjoy a weekly Friday night band concert at Kate Gould Park, and stroll down Main Street offering shopping and fine dining. Within a 5 minute or less drive, you will find spectacular white sand beaches such as Harding's Beach, Lighthouse Beach, Oyster Pond, Ridgevale Beach, and even a fresh-water beach at Schoolhouse Pond. Forest St Beach and Jack Knife Cove offer free parking.
