Description

Description

Let go of all your stress in this villa retreat.

Enjoy a lovely quiet walk to the private association beach.

Relax and star gaze in a high-end outdoor Thermo Spa or perhaps detox in your 2-person far infra-red sauna.
Tennis anyone? Association court is a short stroll from the house.

Do you love sitting outdoors? There are 3 decks--each with its own benefits. One deck is best for large group dining with outdoor grille, another is perfect for a quiet read in the shade or a relaxing breakfast. The third is at ground level and flows with the hot tub, outdoor shower, side garden and lawn.

Want to relax indoors? The cathedral ceiling living room has many comfortable sitting areas with lovely views out of every window as well as an attractive fireplace. The kitchen is adjacent to the living room and fully open to the living room. It has a bar area for eating and for those inevitable times when everyone seems to want to gather in the kitchen. A shaded deck is adjacent to the living room/kitchen.

Walk up a 1/2 flight of stairs and you are in the TV/Reading area with yet another fireplace and more lovely views. The largest deck is adjacent to this room as is the master bedroom and bathroom.
Walk down a 1/2 flight of stairs from the living room/kitchen area and you are in the guest wing. This wing has its own private entrance, 2 bedrooms (one with a queen bed, one with 2 twins), the far infrared sauna, a recumbent bike, a master guest bath complete with a shower and another separate shower/tub unit. And yes, of course all rooms have great views.

Stroll down a 1/2 flight of stairs from the guest wing and enter a large room that can be set up the way you want it; i.e., another sleeping area, a play area, a workout area -- you decide. The laundry room and small computer/desk area are adjacent to this room. Via a sliding door, this all-purpose room leads out to the 3rd deck, the side lawn and garden, the hot tub and the outdoor shower.

Time to explore nature? The short dead-end street where the home is located gives access to a 500 acre conservation area with wooded trails, 2 ponds (one is a great swimming hole) and a sheep farm.
Enjoy biking? Bike (about a mile) to the well-known shining sea bike trail that offers breathtaking views of the sea, marshes, ponds and farm fields. Take the bike path into Woods Hole village for snack, a swim, a full breakfast or lunch, or to catch the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. There is also easy parking to the bike trail if you do not want to bike from the house.

Are you interested in restaurants, food shopping, movies, music, farmer's markets or additional beaches with different personalities? They are all within a few miles of the house.

    Tranquil oasis close to everything

We stayed at Deb's for six weeks and had a wonderful time. The house is well equipped and very comfortable, surrounded by a beautiful garden and with multiple decks to sit out on. The beach is walking distance as are tennis courts. The bike path and downtown Falmouth are a short drive away. You can start walking from the house and access a host of trails in Beebe Woods as well as a hidden pond for swimming. Deb is a very attentive and helpful hostess who provided a tour and lots of tips for the area. We can definitely recommend this rental! show more show less

Beautiful Spacious Rental Close to Beach

Deborah was a gracious, welcoming, and extremely helpful host who was very thorough in helping me get settled, provided suggestions of where to explore in the area (many great hiking trails some starting up the road from the house) and overall making my two month stay simply incredible.

The home was beyond my expectations, plenty of room, lots of light, porches to read or sunbath on, beautiful plants and art and had an overall zen quality of tranquility and relaxation. The master bedroom where I stayed was quite comfortable and felt pampered in the lovely master bath. My sister and niece and nephew came for several nights and we had plenty of space. I was able to take the kids to the beach (5 min walk very close to the house) for hours. The ocean was surprisingly warm as it's part of a bay and the shallow waters heat up throughout the season. The outdoor shower was very helpful to not track sand in the house and the hot tub was an added bonus which I enjoyed thoroughly.

Overall the house had all the ample supplies one might need with a fully equipped kitchen. I would not have any reservation recommending this home to anyone looking for a summer haven in Cape Cod. It's close enough to explore other parts of the Cape or even day trip to Martha's Vineyard and plenty to explore in Falmouth itself.

This is my primary residence. Last summer was my first experience in renting this home. It was so enjoyable that I decided to continue!
At one time I lived on Martha's Vineyard and at that location enjoyed sharing my beach house every summer for 2 weeks. All of my vacation renters took good care of my home. I loved seeing others enjoy a great summer vacation.
When you arrive I will be happy to take you on a tour of the area that is tailored to your interests. Always great to know about places that are not well advertized.

What is special about this property?
Location, Location, Location! I actually purchased this house before actually visiting it. I did not want to chance someone else grabbing it. I am a nature buff and love privacy. This home has lovely gardens and woodlands.
I am a serious swimmer. The closest beach is a premier swimming spot, complete with a rack for my kayak.
Biking is fabulous. I leave right from my home. I love to walk in BeeBee woods. One can easily do a 6-mile walk immersed in nature. If so inclined, one can walk into town via this conservation land.
Food & clothing shopping, restaurants, the movies and live theatre are a short drive away.
I often spend the day on Martha's Vineyard. It is an 8-minute drive to the ferry.
For city fun, don't forget Boston and Providence. In Providence, a must do is WaterFire where they light clusters of wood all through the city canal, complete with Venetian gondolas for your pleasurable ride. Closer by are the numerous towns of the Cape--each with its own unique flavor.

What is special about your town?
Located in the southwest corner of Cape Cod is the picturesque New England town of Falmouth, well known for its beautiful beaches, and crystal clear waters of Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound warmed by the Gulf Stream.
Falmouth is comprised of 6 villages--each with its own flavor. Main street of Falmouth (yes that is Falmouth village!) is the largest center, with abundant shops and restaurants. The village of Woods Hole has some superb waterfront dining, live music, easy access to the Martha's Vineyard Ferry and of course talks by world re-known scientists given the village is home to both the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and Marine Biological Labs. Don't miss touring both places. My partner, Roger Hanlon, is one of the top marine biologists in the world in the field of cephalopod research. If you are lucky he may have time to give a tour of his famous laboratory.
