Vacation with friends or extended family in this charming, unique, hundred year old, Old Cape Cod style setting with a large private beach on John Joseph’s Pond. Enter the private 3.5 acre property with ample parking available, labeled #90 and #92 John Joseph Rd. This secluded wooded lot has 3 cozy summer cottages, each with its own fireplace and 2 separate kitchens, so that you and your friends or family can vacation together but still have privacy when you want it.
In the 'Cook House Cottage', a large communal room with a stone fireplace, dining table for 10, and an outside sitting area overlooks the lake. The attached kitchen includes a full size fridge, oven, microwave, and dishwasher and a small eat-in table. The bathroom includes a tub.
A covered breezeway connects the cottage to a sleeping house ('The Sleep House'). A large bedroom includes a fireplace, a king bed and a twin. The second bedroom in the bunkhouse has a queen bed and cozy privacy. The 'Bunk Room' has a bunk bed and two twin beds with a separate entry. The middle common area has a small daybed for overflow. The house also has a bathroom with a shower stall and laundry facilities.
The third cottage ('Bachelor Hall') has a screened in porch with views of the lake and a large bedroom with a queen bed and a fireplace. The second bedroom has a bunk bed with a twin on top and a full bed on the bottom. A couch can be pulled out into a queen bed. This cottage has a galley kitchen with a small stove, sink, refrigerator and microwave. There is also a bathroom with a shower stall, laundry facilities and an outdoor shower.
The cottages have a common courtyard, which allows for the whole group to gather around one or both of the two fire pits and hammocks for relaxing under the tree canopy. Or follow a short wooded path down to a private sandy beach for lounging or for swimming off the dock, or float in the sandy swimming area. Enjoy boating (several boats available for your use including a sunfish sailboat, kayaks, canoes and more), fishing, or just relaxing during the day. In the evenings, enjoy food or song at the fire pits on the beach. And don't forget your dogs or other furry friends!
Harwich offers several ocean beaches, restaurants, shopping, tennis, pickle-ball, and baseball fields - all within several miles of the house. The bike trail is accessible within under a mile and leads to all the surrounding towns including Chatham. For evening entertainment, the Harwich band concerts and Harwich Stroll offer music and entertainment. Nearby go-carts, trampolines, bumper boats, and batting cages are available to entertain the younger crew.
