Hi, I have owned my Chatham home since 2004 and it has been in the family since 1958. We live year round, off Cape, but only about 1 hour away, so we can frequent Chatham to vacation and/or respond to tenants' needs. We have rented through ''We Need A Vacation'' for the past decade and enjoy interacting with our guests. We meet each guest to provide a one-on-one personal touch. The house is stocked with paper products, local activity brochures, puzzles, and books. We also are only 4/10 of mile from Hardings Beach. Our location in the Bucks Creek Yacht Club private neighborhood association, assures our guests of peace and quiet and use of the private picnic area and 'dock' for launching kayaks and watching the sunset!
What is special about this property?
Our home is a typical Cape Cod cottage. The house is fully stocked with all amenities, i.e. TVs, WiFi, A/C. The driveway is very large and will accommodate trailered boats and several cars. The outside enclosed shower is just a few steps from the back door and convenient for rinsing off after a day at the beach; it has both hot and cold running water. The living room and master bedroom are very large. Closet space is spacious. The three season enclosed porch has two walls of windows, picnic table, and wicker furniture for comfortable relaxation. There is also a formal dining room with a large table and chairs.
What is special about your town?
Chatham is a wonderful town with a great downtown area, complete with a variety of clothing stores, trinket shops, movie theater, theatrical playhouse, library, churches, banks, consignment shops, ice cream parlors, craft fairs, farmer's markets, and bike/boat/activity rental shops. There are several museum in the area. Chatham has a summer minor league baseball team, the Chatham A's, which play often, and you and your family can attend for free. The 4th of July Parade is a popular event and extremely well attended with many floats. One should get there very early to get a spot. There are band concerts in the Park (downtown) every Friday night, free, just bring a blanket or chairs for seating. The Chatham downtown area is only about 3 miles away. The Chatham Fish Pier is a great place to watch the boats unload the catch of the day and watch the fishermen throw a fish or two to the playful harbors seals that follow the fishing boats when they return to port around 4 p.m. each day. Our home is only about 1 mile from an access point to the Cape Cod Rail Trail for bicycling. The Chatham Lighthouse and Coast Guard Station, at the end of Main Street, offers tours on certain days. There are plenty of opportunities for fishing charters, boat tours, and fishing from the beaches!
