Description

Not spoiled as a child? Now's the time! It's easy to fall in love with the tranquility surrounding our Home By-The-Sea. It's every bit as spectacular as its surroundings. You'll spend countless hours here pretending not to be distracted by the view. Whatever your passion, you'll likely find it here! Enjoy the elegance of cocktails served on our Deck --- with dynamic Ocean vistas and color splashed sunsets; or a classic Barbecue on the lawn of our Acre Lot. One thing is certain: Families love it here! Kids race through our manicured Trails and excitedly head for the Dock with their Crab nets. Teens love our Sports Field, Game Room, and extensive Video Library. Guests note wonderful memories of Lobster Feasts in our Dining Room, relaxing by our huge Fireplace, and swaying back and forth on our Hammock amidst gentle breezes on a lazy Summer day. Relax with Family & Friends in the ambience of our Home --- while savoring the natural beauty and inspiring activities so easily found in Chatham!

Our Home, ideal for hosting Family and friends, is situated on an invitingly tranquil Acre with Ocean views that captivate the soul. The Quarterboard out front aptly expresses what you will experience here. It reads: Pax et Quies, Latin for Peace and Quiet. Inside you will find a beautiful and spaciously designed Home --- featuring a brand new Kitchen designed by the premier Cabinetmaker on the Cape. Watch the shimmering colors of the Sea from our Ocean facing Deck. The interior of the Home revolves around a large Living Room with an impressive floor to cathedral ceiling Fireplace. Four Bedrooms, two on each wing of our Home, beckon weary Guests at day's end. Two of those have Ocean views. A private Den/Computer Room is adjacent to the kitchen. The finished Basement has a wonderful Game Room with Library, Pool Table, Bar, Television, Stereo Receiver, and DVD Player.

Our sprawling Acre has trails, a huge Sports Field, large Picnic Table, and a relaxing Hammock. Our newest addition is an Outdoor Shower, and our Guests love it. Nantucket Sound sunsets and invigorating salt air are the norm here. Enjoy an outdoor Dinner, chase rabbits, or watch the romantic Chatham fog roll in on a Summer's eve. Stroll down to our Saltwater Dock ..... a child's paradise. Grab the crab nets and minnow traps. Our Sports Field accommodates Horseshoes, Badminton, Wiffle Ball, Volleyball, and playing catch with both baseballs and footballs. Launch a sailboat or kayak onto Nantucket Sound. The Dock, just steps away, is a very popular place, known affectionately to the neighbors as Buck's Creek Yacht Club. We, by the way, provide the crab nets. Water sports abound. In fact, you may walk to Hardings Beach from our Home. A short 2.5 mile drive brings you to three Freshwater ponds. Schoolhouse Pond, located on Sam Ryders Road, is an overwhelming hit with both kids and parents. The Cape Rail Trail (Biking/Walking) is a mile from our doorstep, and passes through numerous local Towns.

One of the truly cherished pastimes here is ''Harvesting The Quiet.'' In fact, timing Dinner so it coincides with the Ocean Sunset view is practically a ritual. Maybe one of the best ways to unwind here is with a knife and fork. Locally caught Lobster is, not unexpectedly, widely enjoyed at this Home By-The-Sea. All the implements for a Lobster Feast are found here in abundance. Our Home is absolutely ideal for Family Reunions and a great spot to discover the restorative powers of Sea, Sand, and Salt Air. As a recent Guest explained, ''Your Home is two parts Luxury and one part Flip Flops --- so much is done for us as Guests, that's why we love coming here.'' Words we, as Owners, cherish hearing. Our concept is, and always will be, to provide the service that leaves our departing Guests to look at each other and say: ''Hey, you know what, that was one hell of a Vacation.'' We are passionate about many things, most especially about your stay at our Home.

At our Home, the ways to kick back and relax are as different as each Chatham sunrise and sunset. Cap off your day with a tranquil Stroll in the Sand Dunes toward the Stage Harbor Lighthouse along the shores of Nantucket Sound ---- which transforms into a liquid mirror as the evening sun falls below the horizon. Everything here is vibrantly intoxicating, so embrace the surroundings, and delight in the moment. The true magic of Chatham is that when you leave it, you never really do. So ..... get wet, walk on a beach that has no footprints, discover your inner Beach Bum. After arriving in Chatham, the urge to tear up your return ticket is going to be overwhelming.

Amenities Not Previously Listed Elsewhere On Our Site: Lobster Pot * Iron/Ironing Board * Answering Machine * Beach Chairs/Beach Toys * Blender * CD Player * Wi-Fi * Numerous Board Games * Clock Radios (4) * Portable Phones (3) * 300+ DVD Library * Firewood * Vast Library * Toaster Oven * Coffee Pot * Binoculars * Huge Concierge Library * Some Toys

As the tried and true cliche points out, a picture is worth a thousand words. If you would, click on the link to our ''Personal Website'' for our Chatham Home. There you will find a ton of additional photos of our Home, numerous Chatham photos, and scads of pics showing additional places to play and dine on the Cape & Islands ----- and the Boston area. Check it out; it is very, very good. You will not be disappointed. It will, as radio broadcaster Paul Harvey liked to say, indeed give you ''the rest of the story''.

Enjoy!

What can one say about "Mr. Bill" and his wonderful Chatham Home except "Fabulous"! The house itself is as delightful as it appears in the photos ---- spotless and beautifully appointed, but homey and very comfortable. Great Bedrooms and Beds on each end of the house, a family area with Living Room, Dining Room, and Kitchen ------ producing lots of together time in the center of the Home. As a bonus, there is a Game Room downstairs with Pool Table, Library, and Bar. There is a Den on the Main Level with a Computer and pamphlets that probably provide more information on the Cape than the Chamber of Commerce. We had Books, DVDs, Board Games galore, and children's toys and books ------- and everything you could want for cooking/serving Meals.

When I originally booked this house, I asked Bill in passing if there was a Domino set (or I'd have one of the kids bring one). He went out and bought one. WHOA! Since then, in correspondence back and forth,
I have come to understand their much deserved pride in this Home, and their desire to go above and beyond to make their Guests feel welcome, comfortable, and happy. The gals at the Realtor's Office were very pleasant and efficient ----- and obviously very fond of Bill.

My adult kids loved the house, as well as all the information at our fingertips. Within 24 hours they were referring to our Landlord as "BILL" ------- like an old Family friend. We walked the Beach at the Chatham Bars area, played, and dined like Kings. Had great lunches at the Chatham Squire and the Beacon in Orleans, but best of all we relaxed and enjoyed sunsets at this Family Home. This was a wonderful experience! Thank you so much, Mr. Bill.

A thoroughly wonderful experience! Clean, comfortable, well equipped, great location. Dealings with the Owner and Rental Agents excellent and efficient! Buck's Creek and Harding Beach were easy to walk to; and Downtown Chatham is close and charming. We biked, and walked many Cape beaches during our stay. Perfect for a Family Reunion!

We have rented this house for several years now; and each time we return, it is as if we're returning home. We normally rent Off-Season, as we like the quiet, beautiful setting and neighborhood. On our initial stay, I was able to find the perfect environment to pursue my love of photography ------ with lots of space to concentrate on processing my images taken at the end of each day. This location is perfect, as it is a short walk to water, and easy to travel to either end of the Cape from Chatham --- as well as both the Bay and Atlantic coasts of the Cape.

The Owner (Bill) is the quintessential Host, and has provided amenities you will not find elsewhere. The Concierge Info, the Game Room, the stunning view of Buck's Creek and Nantucket Sound are a treat after a full day exploring. The Kitchen is indeed very well stocked.

The gals at Pine Acres Realty are a very competent Support Team. The Owners clearly care about their property; but more importantly, they obviously care about their Guests!

We enjoyed a Family Reunion at this Home, and it was great! The house has everything, and is nearby everything! The Game Room was a favorite of the kids. We enjoyed the Picnic Table, and cool nights on the
Deck. The sunsets were gorgeous from the house, and also from Harding Beach. We cooked in a lot, and the Kitchen truly has all you'll need. Perfect house, and will stay again!

Our Family of eight had a wonderful Reunion at this beautiful Vacation Home. With a great layout, this Home is very comfortable and spacious. Having three full baths and four Bedrooms at opposite ends of this very clean, nicely decorated Home provided privacy for all ---- and plenty of shared space, too. The Outdoor Shower was an added delight not to be missed! The Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for big Family meals, including a Lobster Feast. Bill (Owner) left clear Instructions and notes so there was no guessing where to find whatever we needed. The Pool Table, Card Table, Hammock, and Horseshoe Pit kept our active group happy. Even the threat of a hurricane didn't detract from our fun. The book selection and DVDs provided plenty to do during the few rainy hours we experienced. We tried out many of Bill's Restaurant and Shopping tips, too. Quite helpful indeed! Coffee down by the Dock, and Cocktails overlooking Nantucket Sound in the late afternoon was such a treat. This house is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood among other lovely Homes. "Check-In/Out" was simple. Thank you, Bill, for allowing us to be your Guests. We'd love to come back! show more show less

We are 4 childhood friends who got together to celebrate our 80th Birthdays at this wonderful Home in Chatham on Cape Cod. It was a perfect Home and destination for us, and we had a great time. Thank you, Bill, for all your efforts and suggestions. It was a pleasure dealing with you. Everything was perfect! Ann, Cynthia, Betsy, and Bev.

My wife and I , and our two kids, spent Christmas at this spectacular house. It was all that we expected, and more. The Owners were very attentive to our needs, and they really made us feel at home! The Kitchen had everything that my wife wanted to cook Christmas Dinner. The Living Room is the center of attraction in the house ------ with a huge Fireplace. The views are spectacular, and just a short walking distance to the Beach. The house is very warm and inviting; we couldn't ask for a better location!

The kids didn't want to leave the Game Room, and what a huge selection of DVDs (over 300)! This house is a treasure in Chatham, and we thank you for the opportunity of renting it to us for Christmas.

Can't wait to wait to come back!

My Family spent Thanksgiving week at this lovely Home in Chatham. Well, the weather could have been better ..... but the cold rain outside made the inside of the house even cozier! There was ample room for all of us to settle into the Living Room for conversation and games, with a blazing fire on one side, and a view of the Ocean on the other. Firewood was cut and stacked in ample amounts for our six days there. The Owner (Bill) has an amazing collection (300+) of DVDs of all genres (catalogued and reviewed too) that gave us some great evening entertainment as well.

I was a bit apprehensive about cooking a traditional turkey dinner in a Kitchen that I knew nothing about.
Worry was for naught, as it was stocked with every platter/utensil/pan that I needed. I had asked the Owners previously about a couple of items that I would need. They quickly responded and let me know what they had/didn't have ......... and kindly offered to get me a bread pan that I needed, and would reimburse me for the cost. I guess that extra special attention and care from the Owners is what makes staying at their Home truly a treat. Bill provides tons of info about Chatham in his "Concierge Notes". While we didn't eat out, other than picking up fresh Lobster cooked and cracked from the local Fish Market, we did enjoy shopping in Chatham during the Black Friday sales, seeing the seals at the Chatham Fish Pier, touring the Cape ------ all the way to Provincetown, and walking to the beach and lighthouse. it was a great, clean, comfortable Home. All in all, a wonderful stay.

Given the many rentals available in Chatham, we made an excellent choice! We are a "mature" couple and, because the house had 4 Bedrooms, we invited a bit of Family and Friends for a day or two throughout the week. Though our party was of adults, this would be a fantastic rental choice for families with children as well. It is generously equipped for those preparing meals at home; the Kitchen has everything you could want. We mostly chose to dine out (except for Breakfasts), and one evening we picked up cooked and cracked Lobsters ----- which we enjoyed with corn on the cob, etc. The Owner's (Bill) Restaurant recommendations were perfect ------ as was his helpful and detailed information about the home and the area. Additionally, this home has clearly been decorated by loving hands (and eyes). All the Beds were comfortable according to our seven Guests. The home is in a quiet upscale area. You'll love it!

When returning to the Cape, we hope to rent this home again!

We recently spent a relaxing, enjoyable vacation week here with our four children, one son-in-law, and one niece. It was perfect in every way. Bill has done everything possible to ensure his Guests have every amenity possible. The house is comfortable and spacious, the Kitchen is incredibly well stocked, the Video Library is truly expansive, and the Books and Games are plentiful. The kids loved playing Pool in the Game Room at night. His "Concierge Notes" and Binders are so helpful. Having all the beach paraphenalia available for Guests made it much easier on us too. We spent mornings drinking coffee on the beautiful Deck, headed to Harding or Ridgevale beaches during the day, and then came back to have a Drink on the Deck in the evening. The days were capped off with Dinner in the roomy Dining Room.

Our entire Family agreed that it was one of our most memorable, enjoyable Vacations! Many thanks to our gracious Hosts!

My sister/co-Owner (Ginny) and I (Bill) have rented our Chatham Home for the past twenty years. What a great experience it has been! The opportunity to interact with all of you, and to listen to your stories of the great times you had on your Vacations in Chatham and at our Home, has indeed been rewarding.

I'm a Retired U.S. Navy Pilot, and my second occupation involved being a Realtor selling beautiful Homes in the San Francisco Bay Area for 25 years. My wife and I have two sons and five grandchildren.

Ginny and her husband (Neil) live in Worcester, MA. Ginny is a Professor at the College of the Holy Cross. They have two daughters, and a newly born grandson.

What is special about this property?
The answer to the question above was best described by one of our Guests who said: ''Your Home is two parts Luxury and one part Flip Flops ----- so much is done for us as Guests, that's why we love coming here''.

A word that has always been used to describe our neighborhood is ''tranquil''. It's so quiet here! Our Home looks directly out to Nantucket Sound, and the view is great all day long, but especially at sunrise and sunset. Our neighborhood is particularly suited to folks who love to go out on ''invigorating walks'' ----- accompanied by salt air and Ocean breezes.

Our Sports Field provides the backdrop for a Horseshoe Pit, Badminton, Volleyball, Wiffle Ball, and room to toss around a Football/Baseball.

And then there's the Dock ....... kids and parents love it; it's absolutely a magnet! The kids take their crab nets down to the Dock, and the catch is usually pretty good. We provide the nets! Adults bring their coffee and morning paper down to the Dock and savor the rising sun on a bench by the Dock; at night they can be found in the same area enjoying some wine or a cocktail as the sun sets. Enjoy!

The amenities in our Home are amply described in the ''Description Area'' of this website. NOTE: DO click on the Link to the Personal Website for our Chatham Home. It's great; you'll love it.

Our concept is, and always will be, to provide service that leaves our departing Guests turning to each other and saying: ''Hey, you know what, that was one hell of a Vacation''.

What is special about your town?
Love ''Smalltown America?'' Well, then you're in for a real treat in Chatham. History abounds here ----- with gorgeous Colonial Homes dating well back into the American Revolution. The downtown revolves around a beautiful, curved Main Street with many striking ''Mom & Pop'' shops lining both sides of the street. It really is a trip back in time! Bottom line, folks absolutely love the charm they find here .......... they come back year after year!

Recreational opportunities are found almost everywhere in Chatham. We have superb beaches, and are surrounded by three Bodies of water: Atlantic Ocean, Nantucket Sound, and Pleasant Bay. Ours is a Town noted for stunning Sailboats, fantastic Museums, Art Galleries, Fishing Industry, the Cape Cod Baseball League (25% of whose players end up in Major League Baseball), Theatre, superb Restaurants, our Friday night Band Concerts in Summer, Nature Preserves, Boating, Lighthouses,  Bike Trails, and, of course, our spectacular Hydrangeas found everywhere throughout Town.

One of the most popular things to do here is to walk around the Chatham ''Loop''. Morning in Chatham is a hidden time to be out and about, so much is going on that most people never discover before the rest of the community awakens. It is the PERFECT time to ''do the Loop''. Not to be missed!

Chatham is the kind of place that when you leave it, you really don't ..... a place that while you are here, you can say: ''I really feel good about myself''.
