Description

Description

Location and Photos say it all!

Prime location:
4 bed/2 bath newly renovated house in the highly desirable Maravista area of Falmouth. Close to historic Falmouth village, the Shining Sea bike path and Island Queen ferry to Martha’s Vineyard. Steps to a public boat dock, sandy beaches and scenic sea views.

Description:
The house accommodates 8-10 people. It would ideally suit a large family/reunion group or 2 smaller family units.
It is clean, bright and welcoming, with many updated touches, such as all new stainless steel kitchen appliances and an LG Art Cool a/c system. An extra large driveway (holds 4 cars easily) leads to a handsome stone porch with rockers, that makes the prospect of relaxing a reality. From this porch, there is also a view to the Great Pond.

Upstairs:
The main bedroom has a queen sized bed with plenty of storage space. The second room features 2 new xl twin beds, offering plenty of legroom. A newly painted bathroom with storage shelves, nestles between both bedrooms.

Ground floor:
The solo bedroom on this floor is a nautical-themed one, and consists of a queen sized bed and closet - this ground floor room is ideal for those with limited mobility. Adjacent to the bedroom is a bathroom with tub/shower combo.

The kitchen area has granite countertops and new appliances. A full glass door leads off it, onto a side deck with patio table, chairs and a gas grill, that makes for pleasurable outdoor dining. A fenced in back garden is a safe haven for little ones to enjoy the outdoors. A new outdoor shower is convenient for rinsing the beach sand off your toes and a refreshing way to cool down on a hot summer's day. Also, kayaks and bicycles are available to use (a waiver of liability form must be signed).
From the kitchen area, one can enter the warm and inviting living and dining room that features an Italian leather sectional, tv and drop leaf dining table. And for those seeking a quiet spot to read, there is a cozy sitting room with a comfortable armchair and loveseat. Nearby stands a bookcase that holds various book titles, puzzles and games.

Lower Level:
Contains a full sized bed, with a small nook beside it. Also a sofa bed in the lounge area can be converted, if so desired, into a full sized bed (55” wide x 74” long). This room may be best suited to a couple with young children.

Additional information:
Though there are many wonderful attributes to this house, it must be said that the location of this house is its best feature. It sits just 450 feet away from the Great Pond, a saltwater bay that opens to Vineyard Sound at its southern tip. The public boat ramp is an ideal spot to launch your boat and venture out to the islands, or to just paddle your kayak and experience a moving meditation. A scenic path, for walkers and cyclists, meanders along the edge of this pond whereupon it ends at Maravista Beach which overlooks Vineyard Sound.
Many people swim in the Great Pond and relax on its sandy shore.

The house is also ideally situated near some of Falmouth’s oceanfront beaches - Falmouth Heights Beach and Bristol Beach are only a mile or so away. If a visit to an island of unspoiled charm, pristine beaches and gingerbread houses beckons to you, then hop aboard the nearby Island Queen ferry for a 30 minute trip to Martha’s Vineyard.

There are many conveniences within walking distance - supermarkets, home goods stores, pharmacies etc. Falmouth town itself is host to many fine, and informal, eateries and it is lined with a variety of clothing boutiques and gift stores.

If feeling the blues on a rare rainy summer day, head to the neighboring bowling alley where bowling, pool and darts can be enjoyed. Or catch the latest flick at the Falmouth Cinema pub. The Community Center has plenty of options for kids also.

A little further afield, one will find Woods Hole with its science aquarium and world-renowned oceanographic institute. For the discerning shopper, Mashpee Commons is worth a visit. And spectacular public golf courses abound on the Cape for the ever-hopeful golfer.

Whatever tickles your fancy… swimming, boating, sightseeing, golfing, bowling… or just relaxing on the beach, I’m sure Maravista and its surrounding areas will satisfy your needs and that treasured memories will be made, hopefully making it your most memorable holiday ever.

    Lovely Cape Cottage

A lovely, cozy, and charming cottage a short distance from Great Pond and within a 5 minute drive to local beaches. The cottage was a gem, newly renovated. It had a lovely front porch where we could sit and talk, or read a book. The deck had a large dining area with umbrella where we enjoyed many of our evening meals, afternoon games, and conversations. The owners also had bikes, beach chairs and toys, sunbrella, kayaks, and life jackets available for use. Inside toys were provided for the younger ones, and we found the selection of books available for reading delightful-just great for that occasional rainy day! We will be returning! show more show less

    Everything we needed!

We loved our stay at Quahog Haven! Joan was a wonderful host and the house had everything we needed, including the kitchen amenities for us to make dinner and host friends one evening. The house is clean and cozy and the backyard was perfect for outdoor yoga for our little group. We rode the bikes around the neighborhood and on the Shining Sea path to Woods Hole and used the kayaks in the nearby pond. We went to several local beaches, although you will need beach passes for Old Silver and Wood Neck. The house is about a half mile from grocery stores (and Home Goods if you forgot anything) and it is easy to get around without actually getting stuck in Cape traffic. We had a fantastic time and would definitely here stay again! show more show less

My husband and I have lived in this home since 2015 and have loved every minute of it. However, it is now available to rent, starting the first week of July 2022. We are looking forward to welcoming guests to our home and providing them with as enjoyable a holiday experience as possible.

What is special about this property?
What we love most about this house, is its location. It is situated in a unique neighborhood, sandwiched between two ponds (Great Pond and Little Pond) that border the ocean a mile away.
Looking east from the house's stone porch, one can see the water and all the enticing possibilities it offers - swimming, boating etc. Sandy beaches are within walking distance. A scenic footpath for strollers and joggers alike, hugs the pond's shoreline and offers such pretty views.
Walking a few minutes west of the porch, will take you to several stores, a bowling alley and a cinema pub.
The best of both worlds can be experienced in this Maravista neighborhood!

What is special about your town?
Falmouth boasts over 68 miles of beautiful coastline, offering warm waters, cool breezes and spectacular beaches. A myriad of activities can be enjoyed by young and old - kayaking, cycling, sailing, golfing, fishing. There are art galleries and historic sites to explore, and harborside concerts and live theater to enjoy. Main street is lined with restaurants to tempt the taste buds, and quaint stores to find that unique gift.
Only 7 miles out to sea, lies the charming island of Martha's Vineyard . Catch the seasonal Island Queen passenger ferry from Falmouth harbor, or the year round car ferry from Woods Hole - a strolling bustling village that hosts the oldest aquarium in the nation. A visit to the very picturesque Nobska lighthouse is a must! It overlooks the world famous Falmouth Road Race route, that takes place every August. To view cranberry bogs, marsh areas and seashores, cycle your bike or rollerblade along the 10.7 mile rail trail - it's a gateway to the gems of Cape Cod.
Without a doubt - Falmouth is a very special place that has something to offer everyone.
