During the prime summer weeks, we are a SATURDAY - SATURDAY rental.
Ocean-facing, affording endless water views, these homes (Main and the Lilac House guest house/bunk house) are updated, uncluttered, and steps from a sandy beach excellent for swimming.
Please note: we also rent the Main House separately (but we do not rent the Lilac House/bunk house on its own). For clarity (to see the Main house's images/rooms), or if you want to rent the main house solely, please go to listing #31591 on this site.
Central air-conditioning in the main house, and a quiet, very efficient mini-split in the guest house.
The Main House has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 9. The Lilac House has 4 twin sleep spaces (2 bunkbeds), as well as its own kitchen, bathroom/dressing area, deck, TV and BBQ. Both houses have their own outdoor showers.
We have the rare (in Oak Bluffs) benefit of having a full ocean view, but we're set back from the road (the main house is buffered by a generous lawn). So you can enjoy all the beach-going and socializing of Inkwell Beach and the Ocean Park/town & harbor of O.B. area, but with more breathing room.

MAIN HOUSE:
Wide-plank pine floors throughout, a kitchen with a cook's view to the sea, and pro-style appliances including: dishwasher, gas range, French door refrigerator with ice maker & filtered water, and a full-sized washer/dryer set apart in its own laundry room. There's a back entrance to the laundry room, off the wraparound porch, for easy access to, and from, the enclosed outdoor shower (outdoor shower is in addition to the 1st floor subway tile/glass door indoor shower).

There is a king size bed in a larger than usual (for OB) main/primary BR. Plentiful seating inside at a large dining table, plus bar stools at the butcher-block topped island/bar area, as well as the spacious, level, wraparound porch (3-sided). You're perfectly situated for the annual fireworks, dining/coffee/cocktails outside, or just watching the world go by.

4 updated and well appointed bedrooms -- one downstairs and three upstairs (including a very large bedroom that feels like two bedrooms joined, which has a queen & 2 twins -- the "Oak Bluffs" room). The second-story private deck off the primary (king bed) bedroom offers views of the ocean, as well as Farm Pond.

A second porch off of the second & third upstairs bedrooms also has ocean views. Two sets of French doors from the kitchen and dining area on the first floor open out to a larger portion of the deck (with BBQ and an outdoor table), and stunning ocean views. Another set of French doors opens from the dining area; a third opens to the long deck along the charming side-street.

On the first floor: a tiled walk-in shower downstairs and a separate W.C. (sink/toilet). On the second floor: a modern soaking tub (not a shower). Thus, to state it clearly, the main house bathrooms: 1 indoor shower (+ sink) downstairs, 1 toilet/sink W.C., 1 outdoor shower (the best!), 1 bathroom with a tub upstairs (with a toilet & sink).

There's an open and connected feeling in the kitchen/dining/living room areas, and the multiple French double-doors connect it all to outdoor-living at its best. (There are a few steps up to the main entrance to the house, as well as another set by the Lilac House — great for when you’re coming back from the beach.)

Cross the road and go for a swim. Walk less than 10 minutes and you have your choice of Oak Bluffs’ plentiful restaurants & cafes -- you"ll never have to search for a parking space to dine in-town in the high season. We’re also walkable from the Oak Bluffs ferry docking (the Steamship Authority OB). And it"s a very short distance (5 houses) to the lovely bike path that runs along the island’s edge & sands of State Beach and into Edgartown. There is also a great park/playground/tennis & basketball courts (Niantic Park) nearby (another short and pleasant walk).

For rainy days and taking a break there are two TVs: 1 in the primary/main BR and another in the more casual section of the living room area.

Beds in total: 1 king bed, 2 queen beds, 1 full sized bed, and 2 twin beds. Add in the Lilac House: 4 twin beds (bunkbeds)

Put another way, the sleeping spaces lay out like this:
MAIN HOUSE
- upstairs primary/main BR - 1 bed, King
- upstairs 2nd BR - 1 bed, Queen - this bed has a footboard
- upstairs 3rd BR - a "pass thru" large BR with 1 queen and two twins (twins are in their own area and what feels like their own room, but there is open space between this area and the area/room with the queen)
- downstairs 4th BR - 1 full (a.k.a. "double") bed - this bed has a footboard

LILAC HOUSE/BUNK HOUSE
- 2 bunkbeds (4 twin sleeping spaces)

Also, worth mentioning... we are on a neighborly, family-friendly, and just generally friendly, street. While our house is further apart from others, it is still in a "neighborhood" of those summering nearby. We also own an additional guest house that faces the side street ("The Nest" - see listing #32208). This home is rented separately. Guests in this space are carefully vetted, and especially if it is owner-occupied, you"ll gain the quietest, least-intrusive, most invisible neighbor(s) you could imagine (but able to offer restaurant and beach recommendations, if you so desire).

And our no-pets/animals policy is firm; violating it, or housing more than 9 people/occupants, violates the lease.

Also: as with many rental homes on the island, you must provide your own linens (bed sheets & bath towels).
