With cousins down the street, I'm a well versed vacation visitor to Harwichport. The pictures should be updated- nice flat screen tv wall mounted, perfect on a rainy day. This is cute, clean, a no frills, simple place, but better than a motel! We were happy as soon as we walked in. My 2 kids loved the pool/ocean option, and the walk to the beach is short. I loved strolling past beautiful homes and gardens. We used the pull out couch and twin beds. There were blankets but not the bedspread in the photos. The bedroom is open to the living room sort of-no door. Mattresses were okay.
I loved sitting out front on the little patio area, at the little table and chairs with my coffee while kids were sleeping. It's a tiny kitchen. I mainly used the microwave. The water is chlorinated, so bring a case of water. The owner was speedy with answering my texted questions, and everything was fine.
I loved this vacation rental. Not anything like it - affordable and a pool and walk to beach! Mostly owners are in other units, they are mostly retired, made for fun chatting with them. We met other kids visiting and I enjoyed walking to a local fast food place, CVS also in walking distance and downtown is pretty close too! Laundromat not too far on 28. Loved the whale watch out of Ptown. Worth the drive!! We love Sundae School, Original Seafood, Dr Gravity's kite shop in Harwichport - hop skip n jump away. Bonatts for breakfast! Also in Harwichport.
The only con was that I really didn't know how to use such a little oven and I'd imagined cooking, there's no place really to chop/marinade/etc. so you'll dine out a lot. My girls rated this place "best cape vacation spot!" 1 adult and 2 kids 7/10. I would rent here again and I'd recommend it to anyone who spends their days out and about. show more show less
