Come stay at our cottage, nestled in 15 free-standing cottages in a private association of 5 acres of pines and oaks. Whispering Pines is perfect for family vacationing on Cape Cod. Association amenities include a family-sized in-ground pool (usually opening mid-June and closing after Labor Day), tennis court, basketball hoop, play area and laundromat. Our private, sandy beach on a kettle pond is perfect for fishing, wading, picnicking or just admiring the sunsets. The 2 bedroom cottage is attractively adorned with flower boxes and gardens and wall to wall carpeting. Have your coffee watching the birds coming to the feeders outside the enclosed screen porch. It's a breezy respite from sun and showers! Or laze about in the hammock.
The kitchenette is fully equipped, including microwave, Keureg coffee maker, blender and small dinette. The LR is furnished with plenty of seating, color HDTV with Roku, loaded with plenty of streaming options (or log in to your own), VCR/DVD, high speed wireless internet access. Bedrooms have one queen and two twin beds for the kids (twin bedroom has its own HDTV with Roku! No squabbling!) Plus bonus room with a daybed. Fans, electric heaters and room-size air conditioners in the bedrooms are provided and are sufficient to cool the whole cottage. Outside the cottage you will find a fully enclosed outside shower with hot and cold water (there is NOTHING like a shower in the sun after a day at the beach! Or try it at night for a special treat!) Private brick patio with gas grill, charcoal grill and plenty of seating. There is a coin-operated laundromat on site.
There is a private association beach on Mill Pond. Great for kids to splash and dig.
We are conveniently located in the heart of Eastham, walking distance to a Superette, post office, gas station and a few shops. About 2 miles each way to bay and ocean public beaches. One town up, in Wellfleet, is a Drive-In theater that shows first run movies and hosts the best flea market on the Cape! Go to Marconi Beach and do the boardwalk trail through the swamp and, at night, marvel at the unbelievable display of stars from the wood decks! Two miles south to Orleans you'll find a large supermarket and many shops and restaurants (Want great seafood? Get take-out from Sir Cricket and bring it to Rock Harbor to eat in the glow of the sunset over the bay). The famous Cape Cod bike trail is close by.
Many items needed for a vacation at the beach are furnished, such as beach umbrellas and chairs, beach blanket and toys, boogie boards, DVD's, games and books. You will need to bring your own personal toiletries, towels and linens. Shampoo, shower gel and conditioner are furnished, as well as a hair dryer. Linen rentals are available at The Furies in Wellfleet and are delivered and picked up if you don't want to pack your own. There is a small clothes dryer in the cottage, suitable for the occasional damp towel or bathing suit.
