Our family can't wait to come back! Peace, tranquility and relaxation are just a few of the words that come to mind about this spectacular location. It's remote in the sense that it is away from all the hustle and bustle, BUT, within minutes you have access to stores, restaurants, beaches and other ponds. Sitting on the wonderful back porch having our morning coffee and or walking down to the other pond/beach area and just enjoying the quiet were two of our favorite ways to start the day. The trails on the property were really nice for bikes or just a walk through the woods. This home is very comfortable and has everything you need. The wide open space/nice yard provided lots of room for frisbee time and bocce games. The beds were comfortable. Our family of three generations will cherish our memories made here for years to come. We enjoyed a wonderful week here with family at a very critical time in our lives. The owner was so very accommodating to our needs. The location was perfect for privacy and so near all the various beaches. Our Finnish grandsons loved the pond and Atlantic Ocean. The house was neat, clean and comfortable for all of us. This place was perfect.

As repeat renters, we look forward to our yearly return to this cottage. Its welcoming appeal is felt the moment we round the head of the long, wooded lane to the grassy knoll where it awaits our stay.
Perched on a hill between fresh water ponds and surrounded by preservation lands, this private retreat has those certain rare qualities that warm the heart and calm the spirit. The quietude and natural beauty of its surroundings are a tonic to the soul. Awake to the placid reflections on Jemima Pond or take in the sunsets at First Encounter Beach close by.
This bungalow style home was thoughtfully renovated to provide all the requisite amenities for comfort while preserving the simple charm of an old Cape cottage. Not too large for a couple nor too small for a family. Its location is central to many points of interest and a convenient distance from Orleans.
Sarah, the owner, is attentive and pleasant to work with. Of the other properties we have rented in the past, our times spent at this cottage have been the most satisfying and restful of all. show more show less

My girlfriends and I have gathered from up and down the Eastern seaboard for a week each late June at this little hidden oasis for the past four years - and we will be there again this coming June. We are all architects and we simply love the older character of this gem. Peaceful, beautiful, quaint, comfortable, quintessentially Cape Cod! I look forward to being there all year long. A mile to First Encounter beach on the Bay. Close to town and the walking/bike trails. The property is secluded and fronts on two large ponds. The view from the front sun porch is mesmerizing. Sarah and her team of caregivers are amazingly responsive and accommodating. We love this place. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is stocked, there are grills and kayaks and plenty of parking. The yard is huge with plenty of space for games. You could never leave the property and have a wonderful time - but the Cape and all it has to offer is ready for the taking! I hope to come back here every year and more often if possible. Thank you Sarah for your wonderful stewardship!

I would not be able to say enough amazing things about this rental! Sarah is a joy to work with and the cottage is exactly what you dream of when you think, "Cape Cod getaway!" This was our honeymoon destination and it was absolutely perfect. May was a beautiful time to go (just before the summer rush), and the property was perfect. Adirondack chairs in the front yard were perfect for morning coffee, and the ponds were wonderful for fishing/canoeing. I would HIGHLY suggest this rental to anyone and everyone! show more show less

This was our second year at Pilgrim Knoll. Friends joined us for the first half of the week and family for the second half. It was a wonderful week. Our 2 year old grandson's favorite place was the little beach on the lake with the dock. He played for hours down there. The house could not be more comfortable or be in a better location. The bike trail up the road proved very useful and we visited First Encounter Beach every night for sunset. We discovered that the Herring River @ First Encounter had the warmest water and we swam for hours each day - at higher tide. Only 51 more weeks till we will be back next year. show more show less

What a great couple of weeks at the cottage...as connected yet serene a setting as you will find...I have never found a body of water as moody and mesmerizing as Jemima Pond - it is like staring at a nighttime campfire.

My favorite memories will be the trophy bass I hooked on Jemima Pond and the epic battle that ensued, stumbling through the network of nature trails under the light of a full moon and ospreys flying overhead with herring in their talons.

Easter 2014 - our first trip of many trips to "Pilgrim Knoll" - Our stay was wonderful, memories in the making. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place.

Returning again for the third consecutive year to this wonderful place. The quiet and solitude here is the perfect antidote for stress. We enjoyed the beautiful weather nine out of our ten days. Now we are already looking forward to next year! Thank you!
