''Pilot House'' is a charming Cape Cod cottage just steps from a private, sandy beach with a panoramic view of the Bay. The cottage is compact and cozy - perfect for the family who wants to swim and explore the bay without the hassle of driving the kids and all those supplies to the beach. The deck expands the living space outdoors. The kids will love the sleeping loft, accessed by a fixed ladder. The main floor bedrooms include a queen-sized bed in one and two twin beds in the other. The bathroom includes a full shower and granite-topped vanity.

When you walk outside your door you can begin to explore, collect shells on the tidal flats, watch the sea life, or just relax. Enjoy spectacular sunsets while you toast the day on the deck! The neighborhood store is a short walk away for ice cream cones or basic supplies. The North Eastham village center at the Route 6 intersection less than a mile away has a great variety of take-out or dine in meal options, post office, bank, gas station and small grocery.

Our home is located just north of Campground Beach on a dead end street. The beach is accessed by a staircase available to our immediate neighbors.

If you prefer waves and people-watching, the National Seashore beaches are just a few miles away. The National Park Service Salt Pond Visitor Center is a good place to escape the sun and learn about the Cape: www.nps.gov/caco/planyourvisit/visitorcenters.htm

You can bike to the ocean side, or up and down the Cape on the dedicated bike path nearby. Shopping, restaurants, and whale watching are all available in the area. Enjoy the Drive-In movie theater just 10 minutes away, many options for miniature golf, or take in a Cape Cod League baseball game.

    Best access to beach

    We enjoyed our stay at this cottage last summer. The best part is the access to the beach. It's a 3 minute walk down the stairs . No driving no parking no packing anything. We walked our dog on the beach at low tide, all sand no rock for miles. At high tide the water comes up the stair water is warm and calm no rock . We already book a week this summer just for the beach. Bonus is we can bring our dog with us ! Thabk you Sara.

    Sweet cottage with everything you need to enjoy the beauty of Cape Cod Bay. Great location, we went off season and the area was quiet and we had the beach to ourselves. Will go again.

    Awesome Location

    We took the grandkids to "see the Cape." This property was in the center of the places we wanted to visit while there. From Plimouth to Provincetown and many placed in between. Worked out perfect.

    We were there over the 4th of July and could sit on the deck and watch four or five sets of fireworks in the distance.

    The kids had a great time "in the attic" / the loft. A space of their own.

    "We have been going to Cape Cod for many years but we only discovered Eastham about 6 years ago. This little cottage is the best we have rented and we are returning this year. It is clean and it's got everything you need including a lovely view of the bay from the front rooms and the large comfortable deck. You can swim right infront of your place at bottom of the stairs, or take a 2 minute walk to Campground beach if your kids want to meet other kids. And you don't need to take your car. If you like beach and pond hopping, you're only a few minutes away by car to Ocean side beaches and nearby ponds. But frankly it's hard to leave the comfy deck. Life is good and relaxing right there at Pilot House. Especially at sunset!" show more show less

    As life-long Eastham vacationers, we were thrilled to be able to purchase our cottage in 2003. It is a sanctuary for us that we are happy to share with our guests. We come as often as we can from Western Mass. but we are not at the point in our lives yet that we can be at the Cape all summer.

    What is special about this property?
    Our beach house is typical of the old time Cape cottages. No frills, but less stress to maintain.
