Gorgeous, generous, light-filled vacation home or WFH retreat

This is an incredible property in an incredible location, very much as described and depicted in the photos. Green Gates can accommodate a large group of people, or it can feel cozy for a smaller group, too. There are endless nooks and views and places to sit and read and daydream – you'll feel a bit like Goldilocks the first days, overwhelmed by so many wonderful chairs and window seats and rooms to explore, all of them filled with natural light.

Green Gates is ideal for a working vacation as well. There are several desks and a generous dining room table. The WiFi is strong and reliable. We stayed here during the first two weeks of March, as temperatures fluctuated between freezing and thawing to mild and were comfortable throughout thanks to central heating/ cooling downstairs (minus the kitchen, where there's a space heater) and individual units upstairs.

Without a car, it's easy to walk to a convenience store, The Lighthouse Keeper's pantry and coffee shop, a used bookstore, the Old Yarmouth Inn, Inaho, an incredible sushi restaurant, and more. (The Edward Gorey house/museum is across the street from Green Gates but only open seasonally.) There are many scenic walks and wildlife preserves all within walking distance and leading in all directions straight from Green Gates' door: Thacher Shore Road to Water Street and its marsh to watch the sunset and tides; Dennis Pond and its trails; Bass Hole beach is also a longer walk away. There are two old cemeteries close by, as well as conservation areas with trails. Larger grocery stores are all within a 5-15 minute drive, including a Whole Foods with an excellent selection of local fish and a Friday special on mussels and oysters. 45 minutes to Provincetown, but you may find you prefer the beauty of Yarmouth Port. There's also a helpful and extensive guide to the house and its surroundings / the Cape kept in the kitchen that you can refer to and browse. More about Yarmouth Port's conservation areas and trail maps can be found here: https://www.yarmouth.ma.us/1670/Conservation-Areas-and-Trail-Maps Absolutely and unequivocally would recommend Green Gates for anyone looking for a sea light-filled retreat to relax in and feel rejuvenated once more.
