Our family rents a house on the Cape each summer. We gather like a tribe, 15 or so strong, so we need a big place, one with many beds and nooks to hide from the noisy majority. The Oasis turned out to be the best place we have ever rented, and we've rented in at least a dozen towns, including Chatham, Orleans and many others. The "house" is divided in three. The main section has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen, a nice deck and a living area with a large TV,
The bedrooms are in separate sections of the house, so there is privacy for each. Attached to this main housing section but with its own front and back doors is a completely independent living area, with two, maybe three (I didn't check carefully) bedrooms, two (I think) bathrooms, a living room and a small kitchen. It had at least one, probably more, TVs. This is where the older kids stayed.
Finally, there's a storage building on the property with an "in-law" apartment, a kitchen area and a substantial deck. That's where the beloved uncle who snores stayed. The star of the property is the pool. It's much larger than a standard home pool. The pool area includes a large covered pergola and a tiki-bar, one at each end of the pool, enabling parents to easily watch the kids. Finally, there is a beautiful stone fireplace near the pool, perfect for the beloved uncle to make his patented smores.
Any issues? Nothing that would stop of us from booking it again next year. Spotty wifi, which Pam, the owner, was working to improve. A couple of ancient frying pans that the Smithsonian would pay a fortune for, and perfect for burning pancakes. A semi-defective two-popup toaster. We only mentioned the wifi issue to Pam, not the other nits. Pam was delightful to deal with, which at the very beginning of a very busy season complicated by the coronavirus, says a lot. So highly recommended any season, anytime. show more show less
