A Great Vacation Home for Four Generations

We had a wonderful two-week stay here with four generations - the perfect house and location for our needs. Despite the somewhat chilly late summer weather, we walked to the beach most days. It was close enough for my 97-year-old mother and my three-year-old granddaughter to walk there! The four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and spacious kitchen, living room and enclosed porch/sunroom provided ample space to spread out and spend time together and separately.

Our host, Joan, couldn't have been more accommodating, responding to our every request, even rushing over with her own gas canister for the grill when the one we were using ran out. The Internet connection and cable TV were very dependable, allowing us to be both entertained and informed on the breaking news in Houston (Hurricane Harvey). show more show less

Great place to stay with the family

House was lovely and clean and was spacious enough for all of us. It had everything we needed, from washer/dryer to the gas grill. We all loved the porch and spent quite a bit of time there. It was located in a great spot - you could get to a lot of places quickly without staying in the hustle and bustle. Everything was clean and neat. We really appreciated the linens, towels and beach towels. Very peaceful and perfect for a relaxing vacation!…

We had an amazing time. The only thing we didn't like was we were hearing scary noises like footsteps on the stairs. ... Other than that it was such a fun trip. We loved it. Thank you so much for your kindness to us.

We liked the house. It was very clean and comfy. The kids loved that it was so close to Sea St. Beach and the Sundae School and all the space in the yard. There was so much room in the house for the baby to crawl around. Overall, we loved the place.

I have been renting this house for more than 40 years. Until the combined blow of the seasonal rental tax and covid in 2020, more than 70% of the renters return to #71 at some point

What is special about this property?
The house has an unusually large yard for Dennis. You can walk to many places from it, including the Sundae School, an Italian Restaurant and Woolfies. 3-4 beaches can be walked to: 1/4 mile, end of street, 2 more slightly over 1/2 mile. The yard has 2 tables with umbrellas and many chairs. 2 TVS, and 2 Refrigerators .The enclosed outside shower has hot and cold water. The well ventilated porch is an added asset. House appears small because most of the house is in the back. There is plenty of room for all of you.

What is special about your town?
Dennis has beaches on both the Bay and the Sound. When it is raining on one side, it is not always raining on the other. There are many family restaurants, a go early or go without bakery, mini golf courses, and many places to walk to for ice cream. There is a lot to do in Dennis, but it still retains most of its Cape Cod charm. The Cape Playhouse is in Dennis, and the Harwich Jr Theater sits across from the Dennis town line. There are historic houses to see, and museums, or just become a patron of any of the local libraries to get books and movies delivered to the library from anywhere on the Cape. Walk the length of Old Wharf Rd. or West Dennis Beach, you do not need to hit the mall to walk. Bike the rail trail to the National Seashore from Dennis. You can even rent the bikes.
